After 32 minutes of bas-:'-ketball, he had a whole arena of believers as Orem J 'handed the Bulldogs a 65-y- 45 loss. The worst loss Provo J has suffered in years. . "We prepared to win," J- Sheide said. "We were the gorily ones that expected us to win." Or em's game plan was jlkey to the victory as the Tigers kept Provo's potent offense from getting going ) by keeping the ball out of : their hands. The Tigers used a ;! methodical, time-consum-;! ing offense to keep the ;! Bulldogs at a distance. In ', the second quarter, Provo -' only got four shot attempts. "We tried to space it out and hold on to the ball," Sheide said. "Provo is so big and so strong that we had to limit their touches." The offense did the rest . by shooting 64-percent from the field. Lincoln Reid led the charge and was a per-. per-. feet seven-of-seven from the field with 20 points. Jonny Nielsen was four-of-four from the field with 14. Brooks Christiansen ran . the Tiger offense with preci-. preci-. sion with five assists and . four steals while scoring 16. .Nielsen had three assists and steals. Reid brought the Orem fans to their feet with three dunks in the second half. Towards the end of the third quarter, he went up and over a Provo defender for his first dunk. The Bulldogs turned the ball over and this time Reid was all alone for the slam. Provo's problems were further complicated by ice-cold ice-cold shooting from the perimeter. Starters Craig Stringham, Mick Hagen and Joey Pututau were shut out in the first half. As a team, they shot three-of-23 from beyond the arc for the game. "Provo didn't shoot well. You can only hope for that win you play them," Sheide said. The only offense Provo could get came from the Wesley brothers, Tika and Tai. They combined for 26 points, including all 14 of Provo's first half points. The Tigers were able to do very little with the Wesley's when they got the ball in the low post. The two -combined to shoot 12-for-13 from the field. The Tigers outplayed and outscored the Bulldogs in Hit' ,i 5 ;. Mm v pnh 1 .
