Mrs. Walker will remain there about a week. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lee and family fam-ily of Eureka were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lee. Later In the day, Dr. and Mrs. C. B. Merrlhew and daughter Barbara Ann, and Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Barlow, of Salt Lake City; and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Barker and daughter LuAnn of Orem, were visitors at the Lee home. Mr. and Mrs. James Spencer Jr. of Wendell, Idaho, formerly of American Fork, announce the mar rlage of their son, Quentln, to Miss Nila Carmlchael of Ooodlng, Idaho. The ceremony took place April 24, with Bishop Francis M. Hulett of the L. D. S. church officiating. Mrs. W. J. Chadwick was honored at a birthday party, given by her daughters, Sunday afternoon at her home. Dinner was served at a table centered with a beautiful birthday cake, which was cut afterward. Members of the family present at the affair were Mr. and Mrs. George Woods of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reeves. Dr. and Mrs. James Chadwick, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chadwick, and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Margaretta King Cotten. 75, widow of Kaleb Cotten and a daughter of pioneer" American Fork .residents, were held at Salt Lake City yesterday yester-day (Thursday). Mrs. Cotten died Monday at her home in Salt Lake City. She was born at American Fork, May 24. 1865, a daughter of Robert Edsen and Margaretta Lemon King, pioneers of this community. She had resided in Salt Lake City since her marriage. Surviving are three sons, Robert Norman Cotten and Roy Cotten of Salt Lake City and J C. .Cotten of Toledo, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Eva Bell Dorman of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ruby Kroman of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Myrtle Walker of San Diego, California; three brothers, Otto King of American Fork, Ouy King of Salt Lake City, and Robert King of Oakland, California; five sisters, Mrs. Fannie Payne of Provo, and Mrs. Lillian Brown and Mrs. Laura Dunkley of American Fork, Mrs. J. F. Kirk of Salt Lake City and Mrs. John Goodwin of Lehi. o Last Rites For James W. Lowe Held On Coast Funeral services for James W. Lowe were held Tuesday. April 23, at Ocean Park, California Mr. Lowe, who married the former Fannie Wagstaff of this city and who was known by many American Fork people, died April 25. Brothers and sisters of Mrs. Lowe from American Fork went to Cali fornia to attend the tscrvlces They were Leon Wagstaff, Robert Wag-staff, Wag-staff, Mrs. Susie Logsdcn. Mrs. Ada Barratt and Mrs. May Mercer. Mrs. Logsdon remained in California for a longer visit. o We Print Butter Wrappers. One of the leading events of the spring season was the closing social of the Parent-Teacher association, held Thursday evening of last week under the sponsorship of the Room Mothers of the American Fork unit. The Harrington school amusement hall, where the social was held, was attractively decorated with hand-painted hand-painted motifs on the walls, done by the art students of Miss Annabel Miller. Tulips and apple blossoms also decorated the hall. A splendid representation of school patrons attended at-tended the affair. Mrs. Leo Kelson, president of the Parent-Teacher association as-sociation unit, presided. In her Introductory In-troductory remarks she thanked the unit officers and committees for their part in making the activities of the past year so successful. She reported that the scope of the unit's activities has been greatly increased. particularly with regards to the school lunch project. The P.-T. A. membership has been Increased, and there has been a greater attendance at the meetings, she reported. Mrs. V. F. Houston, Room Mothers chair man, was then introduced and took charge of the program which followed. follow-ed. Two numbers were given by a group of Singing Mothers, under the direction of Mrs. Ora H. Chipman and accompanied by Mrs. Mary Humphries. The opening prayer was offered by Kenneth Singleton. A reading was given by Mrs. Mary E. Abel, followed by an instrumental duet by Betty Houston and Barbara Taylor, accompanied by Mildred Richards. The next number was a humorous reading by Bruce Nilsson, followed by a vocal solo by Joleen Grant, accompanied by Mrs. Humphries. Hum-phries. Representing the Room Mothers, Mrs. Thelma Pulley spoke briefly. She expressed the pleasure of the Room Mothers In their work in the Parent-Teacher association, and In helping with the schoolroom activities of the children. Miss Alice Parker, representing the teachers, said that the assistance given by the Room Mothers has been of great value, and expressed the teachers' appreciation for their efforts. The program drew to a close with a piano pia-no solo by Miss Bertha Clarke, and community singing led by Clarence A. Grant and accompanied by Mrs. Humphries.
