Larry was observed by in-store security officers grabbing Mervyn's bags from behind a sales counter. Larry Bickel was then observed as he and his wife went "shopping" around the store. The wife would tear off the price fags and Larry would stuff the items into the Mervyn's bag. After getting as much as they wanted or dared steal, they left the store. They were stopped by store security secu-rity officers in the parking lot and the police were called. An inventory of the stolen items amounted to more than $1,600. Bickel's wife wasn't taken into physical custody at the time, but will be referred to court for felony shoplifting. Larry Bickel was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail on a felony shoplifting charge. Officers pulled up behind be-hind the van and spotlighted all four suspects in the headlights. Officers got out to speak with the suspects and saw a lot of used auto parts sitting inside the open van. When asked where the auto parts had come from, one of the suspects actually stood there with grease-covered hands and clothes and said the parts had been in the car all along, and the four men had just come from a dance. The officers decided to ask another suspect who realized that explanation wouldn't work and decided to tell the truth. He pointed to the house around the corner and said all the parts had come from there. The owner of the home was awakened and identified the $ 5,000 worth of auto parts as having come from his residence. The victim had several Honda Civic cars parked in his driveway and that apparently had been the draw for the suspects. The suspects sus-pects had taken a transmission, radiator, manifolds and other parts. All four suspects were arrested ar-rested and booked into the Utah County Jail for felony theft. r'mm mmmti Isiejpi wmmm .. . ... Oumper Refinish. J f Or Cutiom Pice ! Any ijfimatter Opener i 4 a:!
