We are one of seven sponsoring organizations that administer the Child and Adult Care Food Program in Utah. We are annually contracted under the Utah State Office of Education which provides funds from the US Department of Agriculture to reimburse Family Day Care providers for their nutrition expenses of the children for whom they provider home care services. The Child and Adult Care Food Program is a key source of support for improving the nutritional quality of meals and snacks served to children and adults in day care. As a sponsoring organization, we, The Orem Child Care Nutrition Program focuses on the Family Child Care Homes. Participating Home Day Care Providers agree to serve meals as outlined in the CACFP meal pattern guidelines; serve creditable foods; keep daily meal participation records and attendance records; keep menus and other records; attend training sessions as outlined by the State Agency andor sponsoring organizations; send monthly claim records to the sponsoring organizations. As a non-profit organization we are dedicated to helping childcare providers make the most out of the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and as a CACFP sponsor, we: Help child care homes get set up to meet program requirements so they can begin receiving reimbursement; File monthly claims for providers; Mail checks on a dependable monthly schedule with a statement of how the reimbursement was calculated; Make sure that providers remain in compliance with program requirements. Provide personalized, one-on-one training at the providers' convenience; Offer periodic workshops of interest; Maintain a courteous, professional staff, to answer your questions. It is owned and operated by local owners who also own Just 4 Kids Adventures in Riverton, Utah. Shellie Godfrey has 20 years experience in child care. She first started her childcare business in her home. In order to accommodate all the chidren on her waiting list, parents encouraged her to open up a center. Shellie and her husband Dennis decided to open up a Riverton Center and then they later expanded to Orem for the 2nd Childcare Center.
