Utah - IxiPreal "Mickey" MicMsen Cary, age 79, passed away September 15, 2008 in Delta. Utah, from complications following a stroke. She was born October '.ft, 1928 in Salina, a daughter of F red and Bernice Ras- mussen Mick- elsen. She married Richard Irving Cary, March 12, 1954 in Salina. Utah. Their marriage was solemnized solem-nized in the Manti !,f)S Temple, March 12, 1955. He preceded her in death July 27. 1998. I-aPreal was a faithful servant and a valued member of the II S Church where she held numerous callings. LaPreal loved to spend time with her three precious daughters: Mxie and Kelly Bird of Ixhi; Lissa Sorensen of Mesquite, NV; Mya and Bryan Beach of Salina. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three brothers; Vaun and MaryKay Mickelsen of Manti; McKay and Shirley Mickelsen of Salina; Lynn and Colleen Mickelsen of Morgan. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors and staff at Millard County Care Center in Delta, for their kindness and compassion to LaPreal. Also, to the Oasis Ward members who lovingly watched after LaPreal for so many years following Dick's passing. A memorial service will be held Friday. September 19, 2008 at 1 1:00 A.M. in the Salina 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. A private family viewing will be held prior to the services and burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. Johnson 1913-2008 Anna Rose McMillan Harris 1924-2008 7T" J' Kenneth Franklin Johnson, age 95, of American Fork, Utah, passed away on September 14, 2008. He was born January 29, 1913 in Brattleboro, Vermont, to Floyd Eugene Johnson and Eloine Sylvia Franklin. He married Fona Jean Miller on February 14, 1939 in Los Angeles. They were later divorced in 1964. He married Pauline Hays Rhone on June 1, 1965 in Salt Lake City. Ken left Vermont in 1932 and went to Oakland, California f o attend the Boeing School of Aeronautics, Aero-nautics, from which he graduated in 1935. His lifelong work in the Aviation industry took him from being a flight mechanic to working for the Federal Civil Service where he was a chief inspector of military aircraft and missiles. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1934 and was honorably discharged in 1936 after a 2-year assignment in Hawaii. He retired from his last Civil Service assignment at Hill AFB in 1973. Ken and Pauline left Salt Lake City and moved to Port Orchard. Washington in 1974 where they lived until their return to American Ameri-can Fork in 1996. While there, they spent much time in their large garden, but took many opportunities op-portunities to fish for salmon in the Pacific Ocean. An avid fisherman, fisher-man, he often went to the fakes and reservoirs after moving back to Utah. He also loved to travel, and took many trips around the country as well as a couple of journeys abroad. His photographs of people and places he visited remain as a legacy of a well-traveled well-traveled life. Ken is survived by his wife, Pauline; son, Roger Franklin (She-lia) (She-lia) Johnson of Huntsville, Texas; daughter Lois Jean Johnson of Provo, Utah; 2 grandsons; stepdaughters step-daughters Dixie Fraughton of American Fork, June (Bob) Udell of Salt Lake City, and Debbie (Bill) Preston of Highland, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Eloine Elo-ine Yocom and his brother Franklin Frank-lin Eugene Johnson. A celebration of his life and memorial me-morial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Community Presbyterian Church at 75 N. 100 E., American Fork. According to his wishes, he was cremated. Cremation arrangements ar-rangements were handled by Garner Funeral Home of Salt Lake City. His cremains will be interred at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Utah County Food Bank. It fx ami- - flrnij A. . ..... Joseph C. Deveraux Anna Rose McMillan Harris, 83, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. She was born January Janu-ary 22, 1925 in Duchesne, Utah to George "Pug" and Peart Sweat McMillan. She was devoted and loyal to her husband, family, friends, church and country. coun-try. A graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, she was named Miss Pleasant Grove in 1941. She married mar-ried William E. "Bill" Harris on January 20, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for over 65 years. As the wife of a career Air Force officer she met and influenced influ-enced people in many parts of the country. A devoted mother of a son with Downs Syndrome, she was passionate about helping people with disabilities. She taught both teachers and students at the Developmental Center in American Ameri-can Fork for over 20 years. She also held many callings as an active ac-tive member of the LDS church. Her hobbies included swimming, swim-ming, painting, sewing, hiking, traveling, cooking, and spoiling her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Bill of Pleasant Grove; children Pamela JamesJ Melby of Martins-burg, Martins-burg, West Virginia and Wendy RexJ Dearden of Cincinnati, Cincin-nati, Ohio; 9 grandchildren Harris, Jesse, Spencer, Carl, Christopher, Ann, Andrea, Thomas, and Samuel; 19 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; Sister Carol Finn? Murdoch of American Fork; and 2 brothers Lee JeanJ McMillan of Orem and Ken LaRae McMillan of Lindon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother George Jr., and her son Randall James. Services will be held Friday, September 26, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Battlecreek Fourth Ward Chapel, Cha-pel, 1106 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Joe loved the outdoors, out-doors, especially espe-cially fishing, he enjoyed working with the youth as a Nebo School District Survival Guide. He worked for many years at Novell and currently was working as an identity management consultant for Tenacious Computer Company. Compa-ny. Joe was a truly gifted person. Coy was born on Jury 16, 1964 to Gene Weslev and Etta May Nielson Bowers, he married Nicky Frazier on December 5, 1986. Best friends to everyone, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his family. His other hobbies included, camping, camp-ing, four-wheeling, and golf. He enjoyed playing fast -pitch Softball for many years on Pleasant Grove league, where his team took many first place titles.
