A year ago, one of the most entertaining football gmes of the 2007 season ended when Boulter's last-second last-second field goal attempt clanked off the left upright and the T'Wolves escaped with a 35-32 win. Now, Boulter and the Tigers have their shot at redemption as the rivals get set to face off with matching match-ing 1-1 records. Orem is coming off of a 30-20 win over Snow Canyon. Can-yon. The Tigers are led by running back Boulter, quarterback quar-terback Josh Uamblin, and tight end Jordan Egbert. Boulter has 235 all-purpose yards in two games. Uamblin Uamb-lin has thrown for 435 yards and three touchdowns, while Egbert has 201 yards receiving on 12 catches. Timpanogos is led by duel-threat quarterback Parker Park-er Brown who does a little bit of everything. Brown is the T'Wolves' leading rusher with 34 yards and a touchdown. A total of 13 receivers have caught passes for Timpanogos, with the leader being Kellen McWhorter, who has 104 yards receiving. The T'Wolves have struggled strug-gled to move the ball this season, but their defense has played very well. Timpanogos' best chance of winning will be if it can establish a running game, something that hasn't gone well over its first two games. Getting going on the ground will be especially difficult MV names Clark as its new baseball coach NORTH COUNT Mountain View High School has named Jon Paul (J.P.) Clark as its new head baseball coach. Last year, the Bruins crushed the Titans 42-7, but a lot can change in a year, especially at a new high school like Syracuse. The Titans are led by running back T.J. Blickfeldt. Although Mountain View has started the season 0-2, the Bruins have played a tough schedule and they have already begun to show vast improvements. Running Run-ning back Anthony Heim- 0 wlz win second NejMUWamer NORTH COUNTY It's been more nearly six weeks since the Orem Owlz clinched a playoff spot, but since late July the Owlz weren't sure who they would be playing. Now they know. The Ogden Raptors beat Orem 5-3 on Tuesday night to secure a playoff spot opposite op-posite of Orem. The news didn't exactly leave the Owlz players all teary-eyed, because what that means to Orem is instead in-stead having an eight-hour bus ride to Casper, Wyo., the Owlz will have a 90-minute bus ride to Ogden. Orem will play Game 1 in Ogden on Saturday. Game 2 will be played in Orem in Sunday and Game 3 (if necessary) will be played in Orem on Monday. Ogden used a two-run homer from Tony Delmonico in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie. It proved to be the difference in the game. "We had some things that didn't go our way tonight. We had one error that cost us a couple of runs, but we'll learn from it," said Orem manager Tom Kotchman. I Prediction: Mountain View 31, Syracuse 14 thought Smitty (Orem starter start-er Will Smith) did a good job pitching. They just took advantage of some miscues, which was pretty much the ball game." Orem looked like it had something cooking in the eighth when Chris Garcia walked with one out and Michael Wing, playing in his first game of the year with the Owlz, doubled. But Ogden reliever Cole St. Clair struck out Beau Brooks and got Darwin Perez to fly out to end the inning. Orem broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth when the Owlz strung together three consecutive singles. Tyler Auer started it off with two outs. Luis Jimenez, who went 4-for-5, followed with a single and Angel Castillo singled threw the left side of the infield that scored Auer. Ogden came back with a pair of unearned runs in the sixth inning when Jessie Mier hit a ground ball past Garcia at first to drive in two runs and give the Raptors Rap-tors a 3-2 lead. Orem came back to tie the game with a run in the sixth. Garcia singled and took third on a hit-and-run from Wing. He scored on a ground ball from Beau Brooks. one. U J Western, T'Wolves beat Hunter for first win Darnell Dickson NORTH COUNTY Parker Brown is probably thinking, "Do I have to do everything?" Almost. Brown kicked three field goals and scored the game-winning touchdown with 12 seconds to play as Timpanogos beat Hunter 22-16 22-16 Friday night. Brown also made a game-saving tackle on a Hunter kickoff return moments later and led the team cheer after the game. He chose, "Work hard," and did he ever. With the score tied at 16-all, Timpanogos got the ball back with 1:27 to play and 64 yards from the end zone. "We ran a slant corner with McWhorter and I told Parker if he was wide open, take it," Timpanogos head coach Brad Molen said. "I told him if he wasn't open to throw it over his head. But Parker has great athleticism and he took the corner." Brown saw the play was covered, eluded a tackier and showed off his speed to score the winning touchdown. touch-down. "I'm pretty fast and I had a feeling I could get around the corner," Brown said. "Kellen gave me a good block." Hunter's Tavo Equasi, half; to face Ogden The run took Orem starter Smith off the hook. He pitched six innings and gave up just five hits and struck out nine, allowing just one earned run. The Owlz gave Roberto Lopez, the Pioneer League's Most Valuable Player, the night off on Tuesday. Orem will now play Ogden three more times before the two teams square off in the playoffs on Saturday. Del Chiaro says he'll used those games to set up his pitching rotation and give guys a day off. "We kind of knew we were going to play them because they had the tiebreaker tie-breaker over Casper," Del Chiaro said. "I think the guys are prepared.
