Show Thursday, July 5, 2007 0 R E M TIMES Page 11 Obituaries Sarahane Mather 1974 - 2007 Verlin Anson Hatch f I it'S'w '"A""4 -w-'n Jri Verlin Anson Hatch, our beloved be-loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Grandfa-ther, died on July 1, 2007 as a result re-sult of a tragic car accident. He was born in Provo, Utah on March 30, 1946, son of Verlin Mitchell Mitch-ell Hatch and Bessie Ro-wena Ro-wena Carter Hatch. He was raised in San Jose, CA. He graduated from Leigh High School. He served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the New England States Mission. After returning home he married Stella Colleen Lear in the Logan Temple on October Oc-tober 23, 1970. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. He worked as a social worker for the state of Utah, impacting the lives of many foster children. He managed a construction company for many years and helped build many buildings, including the Ftovo City Library, structures at Erigham Young University, and meeting houses for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He worked at the Utah State Prison for 16 years, where he served as Production Manager of Utah Correctional Industries Construction Program. He was especially pleased to help the inmates develop skills that would provide a successful life once they were released. Verlin was an avid water skier and snowmobiler who enjoyed a full active life. He always needed a "project", whether it was restoring restor-ing automobiles or constructing a building. He enjoyed all manner of games, especially strategy games like Rook or Chess. He was a man of great faith, honored the priesthood and served in the church in many different dif-ferent capacities. One of his greatest great-est accomplishments was teaching his children the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping them to gain testimonies of their own. He is survived by his wife Stella Colleen Lear Hatch of American Fork, UT, his brother and sisters Karen Shaffer, Marilyn Lear, Joan Foulon, & Gary Richard Hatch, and his ten children Anson Verlin (Lora Lyn), Alvin Benjamin (Adriana), Katrina Lila Reid (Kyle Max), Sonia Leishman (Michael Shane), Aaron Mitchell (Sherri Ann), Heidi Poole (Bryce Gregory), Greg-ory), Andrew Carter (Melissa Marie), Amnion William (Abigail), Alex David, & Teresa Hardy (Brian (Bri-an Nicolas), and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Verlin Mitchell Hatch and Bessie Rowena Carter Hatch. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 12th Ward, 300 North 700 East, where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery under the direction of Anderson & Sons Mortuary. He was born to Keith & Maxine Powell Aug. 8, 1939 in Lehi. He spent his youth in Lehi. graduated Class of '57 from Lehi High School. He was a Green Beret in the U.S. Army Special Forces. He attended Utah State University in Logan where he met and later married Laura Elaine Brown of Logan. Gary became be-came a licensed beautician and operated op-erated his own salon. He was an accomplished salesman working for Bailey Beauty Supply, Alberto Culver, Hallmark Cards, and oth- if r m I p III M " ers. Gary was a licensed stock broker working for Dean Whitter & Co. and Prudential Bache for many years. His wife of 44 years passed away in 2005. He is survived by 12 grandchildren grandchil-dren and his 4 children; Michael (Rosana) of Riverside, CA, Deb-bra Deb-bra (Alex) Belroque' of Wellsville, UT, & Gerri Ann (David) Kent of Marysvale, WA., & Matthew (Mary) of Cedar Hills, UT; his parent;, a sister Anna Codele (David) (Da-vid) Cutler, & 5 brothers; Antoine (Monna), Darrel (Claudia), Gordon (Stephaney), Max (Margaret), & Reed (Kim) Powell. His sister Patricia and granddaughter Renea preceded him in death. Interment will be in the Providence, Provi-dence, UT Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to Grave Side services to be held July 7, 2007 at 11:30 AM. Sarahane Mather, 33, passed away peacefully, at home in Lehi, Utah, on June 26, 2007, after a short illness. She was born on May 16, 1974, in Provo, Pro-vo, Utah, the fifth child of the late Garth H. Mather and Sharee Mather. Sarahane had many challenges because of her mental and physical handicaps, but all who had the privilege to know and serve her grew to love her grand spirit. Sarahane attended at-tended the Dan Peterson School in American Fork, Utah. She graduated from there at the age of 23, in 1996. She loved going to school, and loved the bus ride to and from it. Sarahane lived with her mother and step-father, and her many brothers and sisters until three years ago. Each of her parents, siblings, and step-siblings had the opportunity to be by her side and learn of her greatness as they served and cared for her. She has lived at the West Jordan Jor-dan Care Center for the past three years. Her care-takers and co-residents co-residents there will long remember remem-ber her. Sarahane's family wishes to extend deep thanks for the love and kindness given to her during that time. Sarahane is survived by her mother, Sharee M. Johnson, stepfather, step-father, Neil K. Jolinson, siblings Darrell (Heidi), Jason (Kim), Ryan (Heather), Genene Smith (Clay), David (Colleen), Cheryl Southam (David), Shaun (Maren), Rachel Child (Daniel), Andrea, and Evelyn, Ev-elyn, step-siblings Kelly Jolinson (Christy), Kris Anne Johnson GottfredsonRyan), Marty Johnson John-son (Emily), and Greg Johnson, 14 nephews and 11 nieces, and her grandfather, Conrad H.
