Broberg explained that for each performance, two individuals indi-viduals will be allowed to sit backstage and watch the show; two others will be allowed to view the play from the lighting booth with the technicians; and 15 people will have the opportunity oppor-tunity to come at 6:15 p.m. to take a backstage tour before the show. The tour group will be able to see the microphone checks and the company meeting that take place before the show, then will have front row seats for the performance. Broberg said the philosophy behind the new approach is that when audience members actually actu-ally get to see what is going on behind the scenes, there is more appreciation. "Once you realize what the theater is all about," she said, "it's more fun." Yes. It's been a painful journey jour-ney towards my growing self-understanding. self-understanding. But I've come across another truth. Museums are my beaches. That is, I don't like beaches but I really like museums. I just got back from Washington, Washing-ton, DC. (which is the Hawaii of museums); it was awesome. awe-some. Museums have several clear advantages over beaches. beach-es. For instance, instead being be-ing covered with sand that sticks to you and follows you home, museums are full of information (cute metaphor, 10 points). Through museums we can learn to ride the wave of understanding into a better world (allegory, 5 points). It follows that because museums are my beaches, Museum tour-guides are like the lifeguards. I Dance festival "We've Got Rhythm" will be the theme for Bonneville's dance festival, to be held outdoors, weather permitting, on Tuesday Tues-day at 1 p.m. Diana Fairbourne, a fourth grade teacher, is heading up the event, which will have each of the different grades performing a different dance. The kindergarten classes will do the electric slide a line dance. Other numbers will include: first grade, "Trashing the Camp" (from "Tarzan"); second grade, square dancing; danc-ing; third grade, a Mexican dance; fourth grade, the "Huslle;" fifth grade, a march; sixth grade, a dance from the Philippines; and the faculty, a light-hearted version of "I've Got Rhythm." Bonneville holds a dance festival as a year-end "finale," every other year, alternating with some other type of program, pro-gram, Fairbourne said. She expressed appreciation to her committee, including kindergarten kinder-garten teacher Lynne Wata-nabe, Wata-nabe, who choreographed three of the dances. "All of the teachers have helped out. I've abandoned the paragon of the buff, tan surfer who can tear up the waves to one of a short, Asian man in glasses who can go off about Chinese bronze work during the Shang Dynasty. I do believe strongly however, those museum tour-guides should adopt nicknames nick-names like surfers do. Classical Clas-sical surfer names such as "Moon Doggy" are not suited to the museum. Tour-guides need to pick names like "Kit-tyhawk" "Kit-tyhawk" or "Shang Dyno." It won't be long until business busi-ness start cashing in on museum mu-seum culture. Bands like "The Museum Men" will form and release albums. They'll adopt they're own slang (i.e. "That's so rococo, man") and it won't be long until Museums find their "Gidgit". Ding! Ding! Ding! It's time for Shamus's shameless plugs. Let's turn over the clover and see what we've got for this week. "Little Mary Sunshine" will be showing at the school Friday at 7:30 followed by a free Stomp.
