Show Job Safety Act Adapted To Aid Small Business The U.s. department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, (OSHA) will support sup-port three changes in its operational opera-tional requirements aimed at assisting small businesses in complying with the Williams-Steiger Williams-Steiger Occupation Safety and Health Act of 1970. Howard J. Schulte, OSHA Regional Re-gional Administrator in Denver, who has just returned from a three-day national 03HA staff conference in Chicago, said the agency's position had been announced by George C. Guen-ther, Guen-ther, Assistant Secretary of Labor, for Occupational Safety and Health, in testimony last week before the House Select Subcommittee onSmill Business. The changes that OSIIA will support involve: A proposed regulation, to be published shortly in the Federal Fed-eral Register, to exempt from recordkeeping requirements all employers of fewer than eight employees. This would apply only to the maintenance of records, and not to enforcement of other elements of the OSHA program. An amendment to the Occupational Occupa-tional safety and Health Act that would permit specified OSHA personnel to visit a workplace, upon an employer's request for consultation on specific problems. prob-lems. The Act now requires OSHA to conduct a full inspection upon entry into a workplace, confining consultations to non-workplace non-workplace situations. An amendment to the Act that would authorize the Labor Department De-partment to administratively exempt ceetain employers from OSHA jurisdiction. This would give 03HA the flexibility to concentrate con-centrate its resources on the worst problems first. i visa i j BEST BUY i 1968 J Skylark Custom 4 DOOR HARD TOP, ' RADIO, HEATER I AUTOMIC TRANS I POWER STEERING I FACT AIR. Heart Disease Control Depends On Individual Success in controlling heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States, depends on each American taking the initiative to get regular medical checkups and, if necessary, neces-sary, to alter living habits. This is the message from the American Heart Association in its annual report released recently. The report notes that rea-search rea-search is constantly expanding our scientific and medical knowledge and that this is bringing bring-ing us closer to the day when heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diesases can be prevented or subsequently controlled. con-trolled. But the real key to the victory against these diesases is held by the people, stresses tha Heart Associatio.i report, which is entitled en-titled Oa!y You Can Make It Happen.' It adds that thousands of Americans are unaware tint their risk of heart attack and stroke may be increasing, and so are failing to take the measures which research scientists have discovered are likely to reduce that risk. JEANNE THAYNE "The Bordello Banditos," Sundance Sun-dance Summer Theater's rawest and raciest musical comedy opened last week alternating nights with "Kalico Katie from Mercur. The new musical is the further adventure of Butch Cassidy, The Sundance Kid, and Etta Place in their return to Fort Worth, Texas from New York City to save Fanny Porter's bordellow girls from A fate worse thin death. Scott Simmons is charming as Butch and his sidekick Sundance is young and handsome Kevin K elly. Both give full range to their excellent singing voices and despite their apparent youth give polished and commanding performances. perfor-mances. Moving quickly from the ridiculous to the sublime, the musical is one of the most hilarious yet written by Buddy Youogreen and James Prigmore. It is so fast paced the audience has little time to stifle laughter for the few tender and serious moments in the play. Most of the humor comes from use of the double entenier and pins with naughty conotations. In fact you probably should rate this show PG. Also there are some delightful and talented comics. Jayne Luke as Ruby, ona of Fanny's girls, is mini-sized with a maxi pinch. She's very very fumy and very, very talented. Plays a double role in this one. The Stringer Brothers are hilarious in their outlandish portrayal por-trayal of Beeny (Jefferson Crane), Beefy (Patrick Matevia), and Barney (Will C. Hazlett), the so-called so-called banditos who attempt to kidnap the girls for their boss' brothel. But the spice of ths evening is provided by the very sexy Lynette Lehman as Fanny Porter. She can belt outf a tune with the best of 'em or sing soft and sultry as she proved in the Sundance Revue later in the evening. Gail Christensen plays the beautiful blonde Etta Place and has everything the role requires: beauty and ability. She sings a very provocative number in the revue. Dabby White and Lou Weaver Wea-ver are great in their supporting roles as a couple of bordellow queens and the stage Is enhanced with their appearances. The Revue following the musical sets a completely different differ-ent pace for the remainder of the evening with many of the numbers being taken from the Broadway musicals: 'Oliver, "Sou'Ji Pacific, "The Boyfriend, and others. Many of the cast show the real scope of their talents through these variety numbers. Of course there are always some of the nowfamousSundance blackouts for a few quick laughs. All in all the show makes a very entertaining evening. Both musicals will continue on Square Dancers Plan Convention For Salt Palace The 22ndnationalSquareDance convention is being planned for the Salt Palace in June 1973.
