Sun-day. A birthday dinner was served honoring Larry Larsen on his 11th birthday. Mr. .'and Mrs. Lawrence Palmer are leaving Friday for a vacation trip to southern Utah, They will visit with Mr. Palmer's Pal-mer's mother and other relatives relat-ives in Blanding and tour places of interest in the vicinity. Helen Foster was surprised surpris-ed Saturday evening by a party given by a group of her school friends on her birthday. The heads of all organizations will form a general committee. Wesley Robertson was named to ! locate the site for the affair; Lynn Brown will be in charge of rides for the children and Jack Sumner and Henry Hilton are in charge of publicity. Special attractions are to be sponsored by the auxiliaries. Proceeds will go to the stake welfare farm. Arthur Craig McArthur and David L. Carter were graduated graduat-ed from Primary on Sunday. The summer Primary held its closing session Wednesday. Recommends were read on Sunday for Richard W. Robb-1ns, Robb-1ns, his wife, Maurine, and daughters. Kathleen and Connie; Con-nie; and for William Robert Booth. Gene Taylor, Boyd Ivie to Play On All-Star Team Boyd Ivie and Gene Taylor, Lincoln high school athletes, were among 75 of Utah's greatest great-est prep athletes, including representation rep-resentation from all parts of the state, who reported Monday to continue training for the 1950 Utah Shrine All-Star games. Proceeds from the games will go to the Intermountain Shrin-ers Shrin-ers crippled children hospital. The Class A-Class B basketball basket-ball game will be played Friday, August 18 in the Utah University Univers-ity fieldhouse. The North-South football game will be played Saturday, Aug. 19 in the Ute stadium. Each game -will start at 8:30 p.m. The 15 youths from Utah county who received their smart royal blue sweaters, adorned with the golden star monogram, distinguishing the 'wearers as 1950 squad members are: Kay Worthen, Lehi; Don and Loyal Iverson, American Fork; Ivie and Taylor, Lincoln; Carl Harmon, Har-mon, Pleasant Grove; Bill Richards Rich-ards and Gary Hoover, Provo; Tom Karren and Dick White, B. Y. High. Harmon, Mower, Ivie, Taylor, Richards and White are on the South football squad and Worthen on the North .football .foot-ball group. Hoover is with the A hoopers and Iverson and Karren Kar-ren on the B team. Don Overly, American Fork, and Ray Peterson, Salt Lake South high, will direct the Ciass B and Class A basketball squads respectively. . A Scout court of honor was held last Sunday evening. Demonstrations Dem-onstrations were given of different diff-erent phases of Scouting by the boys. Merit badges were awarded award-ed to Jack Cox for stamp collecting, coll-ecting, swimming and athletics, to Norman Rowley- for farm records and book keeping. Scout master Jack Rohbock was a-warded a-warded an Eagle Scout badge. Remarks were made by Rulon Doman of the Scout commission. A piano solo was played by Sharon Beagley. A group of ward officers met after church at the home of Mr. and Mrs W. C. Miller to discuss dis-cuss further plans for the ward carnival on Aug. 18. Relief Society meeting was held Tuesday at the home of President Mary Mitchell. Some of the ladies met at 9 a.m. and worked on a quilt until 2 p.m. when the regular teachers report re-port meeting was held. A review re-view of the book "Anything Can Happen" was given by Mrs. Libbie Hayward of the Relief Society stake board. Dinner was served at noon to about 20 members. mem-bers. The program for church services ser-vices next Sunday evening is being arranged by officers of the Sunday School.
