Orem Garden Club Annual Flower Show Set August 19-20 at Lincoln High School The Orem Garden Club annual Flower Show, sponsored each year by the club to promote interest in the culture of flowers and in the beautification of homes and gardens in the community, will open to the public on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 2:30 p.m. The show is to be staged in the Lincoln high school activity room on Aul?. 19 and 20. Show chairmen are Paul V. Carroll and Whit Watts. The schedule of events for the opening day includes receiving re-ceiving entries from 7 to 10 a.m. ; placement and classifica tion, 10 to 11 a.m.; and judging at 12 noon. The Queen of the Show trophy tro-phy will be awarded to the best single specimen In the show. This cup has been con tributed by Tony's Floral and Nursery The Showmanship trophy has been contributed by Wasatch Chemical Co. and will be given to the one gaining the most points in the show. Rules governing the show are as follows: VINEYARD CHAPEL TO BE DEDICATED The new $110,000 Vineyard ward chapel will be dedicated on August 20 at 7:30 p.m., with Apostle Ezra Taft Benson offering off-ering the dedicatory prayer. Plans are being made by ward officers for an outstanding outstand-ing progrom. Many former residents res-idents of the ward are expected to attend- Wasatch Glad Society Show Set The annual flower show of the Wasatch Gladiolus Society will be held August 12 and 13th in the showroom of Duckett Sales and Service, 312 S. University Un-iversity Ave., Provo, George Mayberry, president- announced today. The flower show will free to the public and will be open on Aug. 12 from 3 to 9 p. m. and on Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. to 9 p m. All entries must be in place by 11 a.m. on the opening day. Judging will begin at 12 noon. Sections to be judged Include single specimens, three of a kind, baskets, bowl arrangements arrange-ments and corsages Trophies, bowls and ribbons will be a-warded a-warded in the different classes. COUPLE MAURY AT LOGAN LDS TEMPLE Anna Lorine Hedvig Larsen and Antone Bunker were married mar-ried on Friday at the Logan LDS Temple. The couple spent a few days at Bear Lake following their marriage. They will make their home in Vineyard- Mrs. Mary Purdy visited at the home of her sister, Mrs. G. Milton Jameson this week. She was on her was from Chicago Chic-ago where her husband has been studying at Northwestern University. Lincoln High Class of '47 Slates Reunion The graduating class of '47 Lincoln high school, will hold a reunion on Saturday, August 12 at the high school campus, with activities beginning at 6 p.m. Class members and their partners will participate in soft- ball and volley ball games and swimming. Lunch will be serv ed at 8 p.m. in E. B- Terry's new music room in the high school for 35 cents per piate. Qrem Garden Club Members Make Garden Tour Members of the Orem Garden club made a tour of attractive gardens in the area on Sunday. The tour was under the direction direct-ion of M. L. Elder Duane Davis Writes from Holland Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Davis re-recived re-recived the following letter from their son, Elder Duane Davis Da-vis after he arrived in Holland with his brother Elder Delmar Davis. The hiit few days I've seen most of Europe on foot! I never thought so much could happen in such a short time. The trip over on the ship was wonderful wonderful weather, the best food in the world, and lots of time to study and play. I went off the ship at 7:30 Saturday, July 22 and boy, was I glad to see old Del standing down at the end of the gang plank! We went to Paris where we saw the Arch of Triumph, the Eiffel Tower, Napoleon's . tomb and the rest of the city. Lois is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Prestwich and her fiance is he son of Mr. and lira. Grover C. Miller. The couple will be honored fct a wedding reception on Friiiy, August 18 in the Vermont-Orei First ward hall. They will make their home in Orem. Lois is a graduate of the Sharon Shar-on seminary and the Lincoln high school where she was active act-ive in the Tigerette club. Kx. Miller graduated from Lincoln and the seminary and has attended att-ended BYU for the past year. We went to Amsterdam and there we took a boat tour of the city In one of those glass topped boats. It is a very beauiful city but parts of It are very old, dating dat-ing back to about 1400. We took in the museums, etc. there. I think I'll spend about two days here and leave for Germany. Don't worry about a thing. Mom, because everything is o k. and I'm having a wonderful time.
