It gave statements state-ments of important individuals and their praise of our lovely valley; praise of what has been done, and what is to come re garding the growth of our cities in the future. The pione rs loved this valley or they wouldn't h ive settled here and we love this valley or we wouldn'e be here, and If vou will get up a little b sun-up in the morning and drive on some elevated area and watch the sun come up and see it light up this beautiful valley you will see a sight that you will revere in your mind for a long, long lime. All in all this pictorial (Progress Edition) helped me to appreciate this land in which we live. It gave me something to think about and appreciate. Now then, there was a little mite left off or out of this edit ion and in all probability it was an oversight. So 1 am going to mention it here. The Utah Power and Light company has been one of the pioneer companies of the area and has invested millions of dol- 55 West Center USED CAR DEPARTMENT Phone 1000-1001 51 EAST 1st NORTH Same Location, Same Management Over 35 Years gross of Utah Valley. Today it is constructing a $7 million plant in the mouth of Provo Canyon, yet I was unable to find a mention men-tion of that faet in the edition. I looked carefully, so bel-eve that I could not have missed it. Sufficient to say this company com-pany has been located in the canyon can-yon for a good many years, in fact is one of the pioneers of this area. I say with all sincerity that without it we would probably prob-ably have been in the dark many times. I believe as history gives it the power produced in the Provo Canyon was the first high voltage AC line in the western part of the United States, giving service to the surrounding mountain moun-tain area, a rea'y v,r..i ''.' Due to an oversight, I believe, esteemed officials forgot about this stable utility which is serving serv-ing our area with excellent service and gives us power that keeps the wheels of industry humming. In closing I would like to state again that we know it was an oversight and possibly this will help and probably not, or possibly we were wrong in mentioning men-tioning the matter at all. At any rate we want to all pull together to make this fair land the best there is.
