D. Steuler. The honored honor-ed guests was Mrs. Kenneth Perry, Per-ry, who before her recent marriage mar-riage was Miss Elna Steuler. Games were enjoyed by the 25 guests present. After the delightful de-lightful luncheon the bride opened op-ened her many lovely gifts. The Relief Society summer social so-cial was held Tuesday at the home of Counselor Marian Er- canbrack. Thirty-five women en joyed the delightful afternoon. Edith Young Booth reviewed the book "Pages from the Book of Eve." Mrs- Solm from Honolu lu gave a talk telling of relief society .missionary and temple worwk on the islands. Visiting teacher reports were given and refreshments completed the afternoon. aft-ernoon. Mrs. Grant Cluff returned to her home in Boise, Idaho after spending a week at the home of her mother, Mrs. Grace McEw-an. McEw-an. Mrs. Tracy Colvin and Mrs- R. G. Ercanbrack spent the week- I end in St. George. They were i house guests of Mr -and Mrs. B-I B-I W. Pace. Elva June and Victor Hansen are vacationing in Los Angeles. They accompanied their sister, Mrs. Russel Stewart to her home in Studio City. Calif. Mrs. Stewart, with her three children, child-ren, have spent the past six weeks visiting her parents, Mr-and Mr-and Mrs. Oliver M, Hansen. Fifty family members of the late C II. Miller gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hansen Thursday afternoon, following fol-lowing the funeral services of Charles E. Perry. Services were held in the Pioneer Ward in Pro-vo. Pro-vo. The late Mr. Perry is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Perry of Lakeview, Oregon and a nephew of Mrs. Hansen. A buffet luncheon lunch-eon was served- Among the out-of out-of town guests were: Mrs. Rupert Rup-ert Morrill, Kimberly, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ashmead, Denver; Mr. and Mrs. C Dresden Dresd-en Miller, Mrs. Howard MacKay Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lois Stewart, Stew-art, North Hollywood, Calif. Sixty-five members of the All r;d family gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A- All-rc-d, following funeral services held in Provo for Mr. Aln-ed's mother. A fireside chat for the M Men and Gleaner girls was held Sun. day night at the home of Carol Hansen. A delightful time was enjoyed by a number of young people. Refreshments were served. serv-ed. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs Harold Colvin was given the name of Jay Lee Colvin at Sacrament meeting Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stott were visitors at the Sunday meetings-Mr. meetings-Mr. and Mrs. Stott are parents of Mrs- Harold Colvin. Mr- and Mrs. Fred Lystrup have received word from their daughter, now stationed in Italy, It-aly, serving as a WAC in the U-S- army, that she has been promoted pro-moted to staff sergeant. Mrs. Evea Laws and daughter daught-er are recuperating at the home of her mother, Mrs. Gilbert Richardson. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. David Mings-worth Mings-worth attended the double ring ceremony and reception of their nephew and cousin, Glen Armstrong Arm-strong and his bride, Virginia Prestcott Saturday evening. The gala affair was held at Memorial Memor-ial Grove in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. White have moved to Pleasant Grove Third ward to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rogers of Milford visited with relatives here Wednesday evening. Lloyd Hayward, returned missionary mis-sionary from American Fork, will be the speaker at meeting at 8:00 p.m. He will bring special spec-ial musical number with him. Africa as a Tourist Mecca A meeting is being held in Algiers, Al-giers, Africa in October to promote pro-mote tourist business on the Dark Continent. The tourist bus. iness is becoming such an important im-portant economical factor in the world that nearly every nation on the globe is seeking promotion promo-tion of this lucrative industry. Vacationists Favor Far West A recent survey reveales that the average American tourist shows a distinct preference for the Far West. Forty-nine percent of those surveyed professed a choice for the Intermountain west and Pacific Coast areas, while 28 percent favored the northeast, 18 percent Florida and the Gulf Coast, 11 percent the North Central states and 8 percent the Appalachian highlands- Some of the above respondents res-pondents had two choices. The vacationists also had a preference in accommodations. Forty-seven percent favored hotels, ho-tels, 39 percent motor courts, 14 percent tourist homes .
