Arries was entered by burglars last Saturday night, and the marauders ma-rauders rumiiged all the bureau drawers and other likely places for valuables, but did not find anything they wanted for nothing has so far been missed. The funeral services over the remains re-mains of Daniel Alleman, who passed away in this city last Thursday evening, even-ing, were held at the Latter-day Saint' meeting house on Saturday afternoon. The Mormon choir sang several appropriate hymns anil Elders C. D. Evans and P. T. Blaneh-ard Blaneh-ard and bishop L. II. Harnier preached the funeral sermons. The deceased was placed at rest in the city cemetery. Trie funeral services for Mrs, Ruthie Deal were held at the Latter, day Saints' meeting house in this city on Sunday at 11 o'clock. The services were conducted by Bishop George R. Hill at the Third ward. Mayor Hall made the opening prayer and the choir rendered several appropriate appro-priate selections. Prof. C. D.Evans, John S. Payer and I I). Crandall were the speakers. After the close of the services a large number of the friends of the family followed the deceased de-ceased to the last resting place at Evergreen cemetery. Each article was attractive, no matter how insignificant, for each is a link in the chain of our national industrial success in its line, and something that no nation in all the past could equal or produce. There was a Squash exhibited which weighed lilt pounds, onions large as footballs, apples as red as girls' cheeks, celery, potatoes of that big yield reported by James Weight, peaches, pears aud plums. There was a violin made 200 years ago, a model of the ship "Mayflower," prehistoric Jug, si nil countless curiosities. cur-iosities. Tiie fish pond was the wonder aud delight of the children, anv one of them would have given $U,000 if he or she could have it at home. The sericulture table was one of great interest, ami Miss Ruby Hall explained the exhibit to the many who inquired. There was everything about the industry piesent but a loom. The fair was for the worthy purpose of aiding the people of the Fourth ward to build a meeting house. This, together with the knowledge th it it was all, every bit of it. our very own, made all interested in it and in Its success. It is remarkable how Interesting Inter-esting a collection of material becomes be-comes under such circumstances. Those taking part on the program each evening were each a success. There was not a failure, fjr each one was interested and that interest In ; each was what contributed to the splendid result. Mayor Hall and the committee in charge are entitled to great credit. PEACE is now declared between the United States and Spain, and to keep peace in-your in-your home you should buy your wife some nice article of furniture to beautify the same.
