LET US HAVE HARMONY. The Payson Header utters a pitiful wail at the alleged sleepiness sleep-iness of their people in failing to secure the county fair which is to be held this next October. Springville gave a fair in 1S15, but it was in the nature of a local enterprise and was one ol the best "lifts" Springville ever had. We rvixd with pleasure the agitation attempted by our contemporary at Payson but regret re-gret to see a tinge of jealously in their last issue because that cityjdid not secure the location of the fair. We would much rather see all the papers in the county advo cute harmony and union. The county fair cannot be a success unless Payson shall be represented repre-sented in all her splendor.. No city of the size of the "Queen City" can afford to be unrepresented; unrepre-sented; it would not be just to the county, to the city, nor the citizens. We hope the policy of the Utah county papers will be to counsel harmony, union and prolific representation of the resources re-sources that are so plentifully found in every corner of this county. Let us all join in making mak-ing our Utah County Fair a grand success. Wc are sanguine that Springville will do her lure to make it so even if it is at Provo. SUNDAY SCHOOL REVIEWS. We lenm from the American Fork World that the Sunday Schools of that city recently held their annual anniversary of the establishment of the schools. It seems this event is looked upon with great pleasure in that burg and that great preparations are made to make it not only enjoy, able, but memoiable." With quarterly reviews, these vents, in addition to the pleasure pleas-ure vouchsafed, are great interest inter-est makers. It. stimulates the latent energies of the members and imbues them with spirits of emulation that nothing else can. There are many of our brightest bright-est lights whose earliest energies were sharpened and guided by their Sunday School officers and teachers. The successful Sunday Sun-day School teacher is a far different differ-ent personage thau the paid district dis-trict teacher. His or her whole aspirations run in a different channel. Their temperament is apt te be somewhat finer, their aims are higher and their sensibility sensi-bility more sharpened. They have but one object in view that of leading a soul to God, that of leading their charges in to newer and better channels of life. The only remuneration they get is the evidence of success suc-cess in their efforts. Can this be eeen by merely meeting them once a week and talking or read- to them 1 Is it not better to have the subject of their efforts given nn opportunity to show what has been taught them ? Will not these exhibitions of what bus been learned repay the teacher in a measure for his labois and stimulate not only the other pupils to greater efforts, but the other teachers in the schools to more interested labors? We think it would, and without with-out desiring to bo charged with interference would suggest that quarterly reviews be held, and if not this at least annual reviews re-views or anniversaries be given. Let the parents see what has been done; stimulate the emulative emula-tive faculties of the children; satisfy the aspirations of the unpaid un-paid teacher, show the parents what has ben done in behalf ot their children;enliven the interest inter-est of the Sunday School; and, last but not least, add a religious tone to the well known enterprising enterpris-ing tone of SpringviUe's lively reputation. Last Sunday evening a fine suplementary program of choice selections was given in conjunction con-junction with Mrs. Shepherd's temperance lecture. The program pro-gram met with a ready response when the authorities were approached; ap-proached; the Tabernacle was freely tendered and every courtesy cour-tesy given them by way of dissemination dis-semination of the news regarding regard-ing the lecture; notices were read in the meetings and willing will-ing assistance given, but the old prejudice against what is called sectarianism had to crop out in some quarters but not enough to mar the pleasant results. A question frequently asked is one in regard to the date of the next city election. The change in the laws recently gives rise to some confusion of dates with many people. The new law provides that an election elec-tion for the selection of city officers shall be held on the second Tuesday in November in 1897, and bi-ennially thereafter. Has the bicycle race track of two years ago been entirely forgotten for-gotten by SpringviUe's cyclers? There is easily over three times the number of wheels in town now that there was then. Why not get it fixed up and have a ruce now and then f Some of the lads and lasses may be quite rapid cyclers. Who knows? The united efforts of Springville, Spring-ville, Spanish Fork and Maple-Ion Maple-Ion should be sufficient to secure the erection of a factory near tha middle of the triangle formed by the three places. The capital, capi-tal, beets and other requisites could easily be secured in these place for a $400,000 factory. Last year's crop of beet sugar is nearly exhausted, evidently, as the market price of that article commences to stiffen. Its only another of the many reasons why a factory should be built at Springville. The very light frost which touched some strawberry patches this week did no particular damage dam-age to SpringviUe's crop as a whole. Everything indicates a heavy fruit crop again this year.
