AN ORDINANCE Preventing minors under Sixteen Years of Age From Loafing About the Streets after certain hours. Section 1. Be it ordained by the city council of Springville that here after it shall be unlawful Tor any minor person, under the age of sixteen years, to be on or loitering about any of the stie.ts, by-ways or other public places of this city, after the hour of nine o'clock, d. m., and until the hour of three o'clock, a. 111., next day, from the first day of October in each year to die first day of April following, and from ninc-thirtv o'clock p. m., until three o'clock, a. m., next day, from the Hist day oJApril to the first day of October in each year, except ex-cept as hereinafter providid: said minor shall show a written permit, signed by the pareut, guardian or other person having control of such minor, or except such minor heat-tended heat-tended by a relative, guardian, custodian cus-todian or by some other person having the permission of said relative, guardian or custodian. Sec. 2. It shall be the duty of the city marshal or any policeman of this city to keep an accurate and correct time of the hours mentioned in this chapter, and any minor person, under sixteen years of age, found violating the provisions of this chapter is guilty of an offense, and upon conviction thereof shall be liable to a fine in any sum not exceeding five dollars, or to be imprisoned in the city jail not exceeding ex-ceeding five days, or to both fine and Imprisonment. Sec. 3 Any minor person, as mentioned men-tioned in this chapter, found upon, or loitering about any ot the streets, by-ways, or other public places of this city, after the hours mentioned in this chapter, shall exhibit to the oitlcer demanding the same such s ritte.11 permit as provided in this chapter, unless such minor be properly proper-ly attended as provided in this chapter, nnd said minor falling to shw such written permit, when so demanded by the officer, shall be precluded pre-cluded from giving any written permit per-mit in evidence on the trial of such offense. Sec. 4. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this ordinance, th city council shall secure a bell, said .bell to he placed in some convenient con-venient place; it shall he rung in the evening of each and every day, ten minutes before the time mentioned in this chapter, for the purpose of giving warning to all such minors who may he upon t he streets, by-ways. or other public places to leave such places at once and retire to their homos without delay.
