Mayor Deal is having an elegant two-story brick residence ereetod, which, when finished, will be one of the best in the 'city. It will cover 53x40 feet, containing six large airy rooms with hall way; besides commodious com-modious bath rooms, clothes and dish closets. The upper story will contain three rooms. Mr. T. E. Child has the plans and contract for the building which will foot up an outlay of $1,800 to $2,000. Mr. Will Friel is furnishing furnish-ing the brick and Clark liros. are doing the carpenter work, and Ward & Sons of Provo the mill work. At preseut the Mayor arid his jovial family are enjoying their summer vacation In a tent located just cast of the site of the new residence. Mr. Lute Deal is also having an elegant brick residence built at the corner opposite his present place of abode, corner of Main and Wood streets. This will take on considerable of the metropolitan air, with water aDd all the latest improvements to a magnificent home, it will contain seven roorus.with bath rooms, buttery etc., having two stories. It will cost soinethingover$2,800 when completed. Mr. Andrew Berkley has the contract for the brick and mason work, all of which he will furnish, except the brick which Mr. Nels Tiffany of I'rovo will furnish. Mr. Reuben Richardson, the carpenter, has made the plans and will do the carpenter work. . - 6mith, is also having a neat four-room cottage built on his place in the Third Ward. This will be one of the pretty cottages of the city and represents some of- Uie skillful mason work of thatkuightof the trowel, Mr. Andrew lierkley. Each morter joint is neatly pointed up with a round finish and the foundation stones arc trimmed up to a proportionate square and nicely nice-ly painted. The carpenter work is being done by Mr. Reuben Richardson, Richard-son, who, with Mr. Berkley, took this contract, furnishing the plans, material and labor agregating an outlay out-lay of about $1,200, which compared with 1800, would represent a $2,500 house. These gentlemen also have a house under way for Dode Diamond, which will be of brick, costing about $1,000. Also a neat cottage for Mr. John Anderson of the Fourth Ward, and a $1,000 house for Mr. Wiu. Ifoppler of Mapleton. This will contain six rooms and aggregates from $1,200 to 11,500. Mr. Berkley has a force of fifteen men under his charge to handle the great number of jobs he has on hand. Old People.
