Scott said that he was in favor of electric lights, and had .been investigating investi-gating the matter. E. L. LOM AX, Gen. Pass, and Tkt. Agt. PASSION'S SLAVE. This Interesting and emotional play was presented again last Wednesday evening by the Springville Dramatic Co., under the direction of Will Houtz, and certainly found the. best niches for the various members of the cast, each one of whom did better work than did the stock company who presented pre-sented the ulay In Salt Lake last winter win-ter at the Lyceum theatre the writer was there and knows. Houtz, of course, was all right in his dual role of Manuel De Foe and Maj. Shortslcves the comedy part being especially good. Gregory as Gollght, was rljbt In his element, and did better than in any other part, comedy appears to be his forte. Holdaway Is fine as the vllllan; Joe Whitehead did the dignified General Gen-eral Briscoe very well, and Ray West-wood West-wood did what he had to do to his usual good style. Miss Netbltt ae Mamie was as near perfect aa one can find. Miss Ethler wa9 splendid as Clcthilde; nd Mis 3 H . V I Burch as Patty, the soubretle,appear-ed soubretle,appear-ed to better advantage than in any-other any-other character, and did finely. Taken altogether it was the best dramatic entertainment that ha been given here for a long time, and far superior to the entertainments entertain-ments given by the great majority of travelling companies. AN K XT It A FOR CLOTIHLDE (Communicated: Passion's slave was again played by Springville's Dramatic, company, under un-der the direction of Will Houtz, Wednesday. Wed-nesday. A good piece well rendered in all Us parts is both a pleasure and a profit to an appreciative audience. Nothing but praise can be cspokeii in the way of commyut on Wednesday's performance, for where all did so well it seems ungenerous to single at any one, yet the writer of this feels iu his heart to say that Miss Eihier in her unique part can have no more than a peer in any company.
