Park City s sheller for victims of domestic abuse, bosted a fundraiser ith an Oriental flavor fla-vor at l"he Phoenix on Main Slreet. In addition to offering guests platefuls of ushi and teriyakL goblets of sake and wine and tables lined iln silent auction auc-tion items, the Peace House staff those to honor three Park Cjly women for their leadership roles in the community. According Jo Ann MacOuoid who helped to introduce the hon-orees. hon-orees. "'Park City has always been rich in history and in its women." MacQuoid lauded Bea Kummer for her commitment to the towns mining heritage and her generosity to uewcoraers. MacOuoid singled out Tina Lewis for her creative abilities in promoting Park City listing her many accomplishments including the establishment of the Park City Chamber of Commerce and renovation of the Miners Hospital. She characterized Lewis as wise, thoughtful, intelli gent and clever. Eccles Center Director Teri Orr was also recognized, in particular for her efforts to raise awareness about domestic abuse issues. According to MacOuoid Orrs sensitive news coverage of the murder of Nadalee Noble by her husband in was a hallmark of her '"intrinsic generosity of spirit.." At the time Orr was the editor of The Park Record and after the tragedy she went on to help establish Summit County's first Domestic Peace Task Force.
