The winning ways by beating the two teams met last year in the title game, which the Green Parrot won 5-1. With Sunday's victory, the Park City team remained undefeated with a 10-0-2 record and clinched a first-place finish for this year's regular-season action. Two games remain before the playoffs begin on Feb. 20. Sunday's action was fast-paced with Brackmans goalie Chad Lund making 43 saves while playing his best game of the season. Lund simply kept Brackmans in the game. The Green Parrot came out flying, keeping the pressure on Brackmans throughout the first period. Lund made numerous great saves to keep the Parrot off the board. Brackmans managed to get on the board first when Steve Johnson scored the game's first goal with ten seconds left in the period after picking off a Parrot clearing pass. Two minutes into the second period, Paul Snow intercepted a Parrot pass at center ice and skated past a defenseman before putting a great move on the goalie to give Brackmans a 2-0 lead. Brackmans held on through the remainder of the period with Lund continuing his stellar play in net. After two periods of action, the Green Parrot had outshot Brackmans 20-12. In the third period, the Parrot increased the pressure. Andy Matsukawa capitalized on Brackmans' inability to clear their zone by beating Lund with a high shot from in front of the goal. With five minutes left to play, Gary Bums blasted a shot past Lund to tie the game. Luke Smith put Brackmans ahead with a wrist shot from the top of the left face-off circle with 2:52 left in the game. A minute and a half later, Smith set up Johnson for his second goal of the game, giving Brackmans a 4-2 lead. The Parrot narrowed the gap to one with 54 seconds left when Burns got his second goal of the game, but that was all Lund would allow and Brackmans came away with the 4-3 victory. Brackmans will play Check League-team Cottonwood Spa on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 4:15 p.m. at the Cottonwood Heights Arena in Salt Lake. Park City's only Western Dinner Theatre ...
