Blood pressure clinic The Summit County Department of Health will sponsor a blood pressure clinic at the Memorial Building on Feb. 21. The clinic will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. (217) Jump-a-thon at TMMS A jump-a-thon will be held at the Treasure Mountain Middle Mid-dle School February 10 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This is a fundraiser fund-raiser for fitness to raise money for physical education equipment and the middle school's travel study program. This is also to encourage aerobic fitness. Students will be going around the community asking for pledges. (210) Surplus cheese and butter U.S.D.A. surplus cheese and butter will be distributed to low-income persons and families in Summit County on Feb. 14 and 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations: Kamas assistance payments office, 60 North Main. Coalville Commission Chamber, County Courthouse. Park City-Memorial Building Gym, 427 Main St. Social Security number and form of identification showing name and address is required. (210) Library offers tax help Are you tired of waiting in a line or on the telphone to get help with your federal income tax return? The Park City Library has cassette tapes with recorded instructions on how to fill out both the short Form 1040A, 1040EZ and the longer Form 1040, along with Schedules A and B. These tapes, prepared by the Internal Revenue Service, can be checked out just like a book and played at home on any standard cassette tape player. There is even a provision for stopping the tape at convenient points to finish working on a section of the form. Persons using these cassette tapes should have their tax forms and instructions available so that they can work right along with the tape. (414) Counseling for low-income families Because of a recent federal grant, the Park City Family Counseling Institute is offering counseling services to low-income low-income families and single-parent families. Fees are on a sliding scale according to income. The Institute is open from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday and evenings by appointment. For eligibility requirements and further information, call 649-2426. (tfn) Attn: senior citizens The Park City Senior Citizens meet Mondays and Thursdays Thur-sdays for dinner at the center. (tfn) Community church school Lamplighter is open Park City's thriving community Sunday School program is a joint effort by three Protestant churches. Held each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. at the Park City Community Church, 402 Park Avenue, the classes consist of people from the Community Com-munity Church, Shepherd of the Mountain Lutheran Church and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Ranging from preschool ages through adults, the enrollment now exceeds 50, and more students are arriving each Sunday. Sunday School is from 9 until 10 a.m., with worship services at the Park City Community Church (Methodist affiliated) following at 10: 15 a.m. During the worship hour, child care is provided for youngsters of kindergarten and below. (tfn) Alcoholics Anonymous The local group of Alcoholics Anonymous is meeting each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at the parish hall of St. Mary's church. (tfn) Story Time for preschoolers Story Time for preschoolers is held at the Park City Library Thursday at 10 o'clock. Children ages three to five are welcome, visitors as well as residents. (TFN) The Lamplighter is sponsored by Park City's Ecumenical Council to provide an alternative place of entertainment. It will be a casual atmosphere of live entertainment, serving coffees, teas, hot chocolate and cider. (tfn) Family planning The Park City Community Clinic, a nonprofit family planning plan-ning program, will be holding clinics during February. Appointments Ap-pointments are available for morning, afternoon and evening clinics. The services offered include physical exams, PAP tests, counseling and education, VD screening, pregnancy testing and contraceptive supplies. Costs for these services are reasonable.
