"This is something that has really never been done in City recorder to resign The resignation of City Recorder Marlene Olson was accepted with reg. et Jan. 13 by the Park City Council. In announcing Olson's resignation, City Manager Arlene Lotle said no definite date had been set for her departure. "We are hoping that it will be some time," she said, "and that the person who replaces her will do some semblance of the outstanding outstan-ding job that she has done for us." Added Mayor Jack Green, "I don't know how we're going to get along without Marlene." Park City hosts airline ski week About 700 members of the North American Airlines Ski Federation are in Park City this week, participating in a series of ski races and other activities. Eric Martisius, head of publicity for the group, said that the employees also came to Park City last year and normally would have looked for another location in 1983. "But we had such a good time, we voted to come back another year." Included in the week's activities ac-tivities are a welcome party, which took place Monday, evening, races during the day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, capped by a "sock hop" awards party Thursday eveing. Martisius said that only about 100 members of the group take their racing seriously. "Most of the people are recreational skiers." Sponsors of the week's activities ac-tivities are Coors Beer and Rums of Puerto Rico. Cocaine: Boii't pass it Cocaine isn't chewing gum. And anyone who passes around the white powder is in trouble with the law, said assistant county attorney Terry Christiansen. You don't have to be a seller, said Christiansen in a joint discussion with the Park City newspapers. Sharing Shar-ing the white powder with friends is a felony, punishable punish-able by up to five years and a $1000 fine. A recent case, he said, involved resident Vincent Majeski who was arrested for giving the drug to a lady friend in the parking lot of the Park City resort. After pleading guilty, Majeski was sentenced to three weeks in the Coalville jail by Judge J. Dennis Frederick. Possession of cocaine is a Class B misdemeanor punishable pun-ishable by a fine of up to $299 and six months in jail. You may think the odds are against your being caught with cocaine. But said Christiansen, "When drug use comes to the attention of the county attorney, at-torney, it will be vigorously prosecuted."
