Another uptown restaurant and bar isn't necessary but a grocery store is. Jamie Douglas The store was a Park City institution, in-stitution, it's a shame that it's gone. I hope the new owners make the change worthwhile. John Landon I think it's a great idea. Bill Skinner It strikes close to my heart. Park City was one of the few towns with downtown walking distance to a grocery store, the post office, of-fice, restaurants, bars, a liquor store and a laundry laun-dry mat. Now the grocery store is gone. ' Kooby I'm not angry that it's closing. It was closed for a reason, it wasn't making money. Carl Neumayer I really don't like to see it closed. It's rather unhandy to go all the way to Mt. Air Market for groceries especially for those that have to walk. Editor: This is an urgent reminder to those who have located mining claims on federal lands in Utah before October 21, 1976. They could lose their claims if certain steps are not taken very quickly. If miners have not already done so, they must file copies of location notices and evidence of 1978 and 1979 assessment work with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's State Office in Salt Lake City by Monday, October 22, 1979. The reason for filing with BLM is that Congress passed the Federal Land Policy and Management Act on October 21, 1976. One provision of that law calls for setting up for the first time a central registry of mining claims on federal lands. ' Congress gave miners and prospectors three years from the date the law was passed to comply. That deadline is rapidly approaching. ap-proaching. If they fail to meet the deadline, the law says their claims must be considered abandoned. The law does not make provision for mining claimants to receive notice, nor does it provide for administrative ad-ministrative recourse. Recording the claim with BLM is in addition to the normal practice of filing with the County Recorder in the county where the claims are located. The new filing system will preserve valid existing rights and help avoid costly and time-consuming actions to identify and clear the title to dormant mining claims. Claims and assessment work may be filed in person or by mail at BLM's Utai State Office room 1400, University Club Building, 136 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111.
