Lund announced last week that he plans - to serve 22 arrest warrants for narcotics . violations. "We still have six maybe seven arrests left to make in Park City. The rest of the people have moved to Salt Lake City, Ogden, and four have gone back to St. George," the Marshall said. Transients "Most of the drug problem in Park City involves transient tran-sient type people, most of whom left town at the end of the ski season", Lund said. Concerning heroin traffic in Park City the Chief stated,"Only one or two people in the whole population of Park City have been using heroin. There was a known dealer up here but he sold mostly to people coming up from Salt Lake." When asked for his estimation of the present drug market in Park City Lund answered,"According to rumors on the street, you can hardly buy a lid of marijuana. I'm sure things will loosen up around the ski season but as for right now I think it has diminished quite a bit." Undercover Agents The undercover agents who purchased the drugs which eventually led to the 22 warrants left town at the end of last month, Lund revealed. "There was no wire tapping. tap-ping. All the evidence came from agents buying controlled con-trolled substances," Lund said. t When asked about the relatively low price agents paid for cocaine and heroin when compared to normal street prices the Chief stated,"The federal agents were paying $18,000 a pound for cocaine and $12,000 for herion in Park City." Reaction of Town "I think people in general have accepted my action, but the people who have been involved with illegal activities ac-tivities haven't accepted it very well,'' Lund reported. "From here on in the arrests will be handled by federal agents unless they ask for the assistance of the Park City police force," the Chief said. Declining to offer any more information Lund stated'After the trials are over I will be glad to give names and all the other details." Decker Lashes County GOP Perrine Quits Commission Post Park City . Planning Commissioner Jerry L. Perrine has resigned his commission post.. Perrine, a landscape ar-chUect. ar-chUect. recently had been accused of having a conflict of interest regarding a duplex development approved unanimously ' by the commission com-mission for the Crescent Hidge area. . A group of Crescent Ridge condominium owners fighting to prevent construction con-struction of the duplexes created the conflict of interest in-terest controversy when it was revealed that Perrine formulated the develop-cont. develop-cont. on page 3 "People will stand for a lot of things from government, but one thing they will never stand for is taxation without representation." No, this is not the famous statement of an angry American Revolutionary. It is the embittered cry of Park . City's Bruce Decker, whose campaign for County Commissioner Com-missioner was brought to a sudden and unexpected halt at the Republican County Convention last Tuesday evening. Decker's bicentennial sounding declaration dramatizes his contention that Park City, the largest tax paying municipality in Summit County, could be denied a voice in county Government for the sixth straight year.
