First Place Howie Stubbs, Westside Elementary, third grade I am a friend of the library li-brary because it has thousands thou-sands and thousands of books. I don't know how bored I would be without it! I read from the library every single day. Books are awesome. How? How did this happen to me? Well, let me tell you my story from the beginning . . . I was very little, about in first grade, and I hated reading, I hated books, and I had to do it every single day! But one day I read the "Magic Tree House" and from that day on I wanted to be a writer. My mom said that the first step to becoming a writer is to read lots of books. So now I read really big books like "Eragon" and "Harry Potter Pot-ter and the Goblet of Fire" even though I'm only nine. And I'll never, never, ever as a werewolf, a cat or a frog, but be cautious around strange animals, especially dogs. Have a grown-up inspect in-spect your candy when you're done trick-or-treating to remove open packages and choking hazards before eating.
