Thousands of shells will be shot off into the sky from a location northeast of Springville High School beginning at 10 p.m. sharp on Saturday, June 14. The entire fireworks show will be choreographed choreo-graphed to music and launched electronically. The music accompanying accompany-ing the fireworks show will be played over the professional-grade sound system at the Spring Acres Arts Park, 620 S. 1350 East (located just northeast of Springville High School). In addition, the Springville Spring-ville High School football stadium will be open to the public that evening and a sound system will be set up so those in the stadium can hear the music as well. Those who are within a mile of the park will be able to tune in to 99.9 FM to hear the music. The fireworks will follow fol-low a free performance by the band Florez at 7 p.m. at the arts park. Those inside the park enjoying the concert con-cert that evening will have perfect seats to then view the fireworks show. An open house will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 from 2 to 5 p.m. at their home, 10715 S. 1900 West, Payson, Utah. They are dearly loved by their eight children, 32 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Free Tai-Chi, Chi-Gong workshop scheduled Art City Days: Downtown music stage is back! Since 2004, attendees at Art City Days in Springville Spring-ville have enjoyed live music mu-sic at the downtown stage, right smack in the middle of the festivities. Hosted by Thorn Sequoia, Se-quoia, and put on by AcoustiHouse Concerts, Thorn Sequoia Productions and AVPro Sound, many festival goers came to rely on the talented shows on the lawn in front of the library. li-brary. Last year Sequoia had moved away to Virginia with his work, and the city opted to not have the concerts downtown. The music will run Friday Fri-day and Saturday, June 13-14, from 1 to 10 p.m. A new act will perform every hour, and the Headline acts this year will be: Friday, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Greg Simpson; Simp-son; Friday, 8 to 9:30 p.m., Shane Jackman; Saturday, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Jeff Hinton (from the band Joshua Creek); Saturday, 8 to 9:30 p.m., Thorn Sequoia. On Friday, June 13, 1 p.m. the talent is to be announced; an-nounced; 2 p.m., Dan Peterson; Peter-son; 3 p.m., Amara Doxie; 4 p.m., Angella Soffe; and 5 p.m., Cori Conners. Saturday, Satur-day, June 14, will see Chris Woods at 1 p.m.; Expressions Expres-sions Dance at 2 p.m.; Allen Al-len Hughes at 3 p.m .; Rima Clark at 4 p.m.; and Eric Blood at 5 p.m. Due to the construction this year, the downtown music stage will be in the midst of 50 craft fair and vendor booths, instead of on the lawn. The street will be blocked off for the event at the new location on 200 S. and 50 East - just off Main street, and kitty corner from Central Bank. A free Tai-Chi and Chi-Gong Chi-Gong meditation exercise workshop will be offered on Satuday, June 14, at the IHC American Fork Hospital located at 170 N. 1100 East, American Fork. Registration will begin at 11:45 a.m. in classroom 1 at the hospital and the workshop will be held from noon to 2 p.m. All ages and abilities are welcome wel-come to attend. Since seating is limited to the first 30 students, call the Garrett Mission Clinic at 836-2825 to RSVP for this free workshop as soon as possible. Workshop instructors will be Dr. John Garrett and Dr. Janet Garrett, who have both studied Tai-Chi and Chi-Gong medication exercises in the USA and China. Students will practice learning 40 Tai-Chi and Chi-Gong meditation exercises. ex-ercises. Practical information on becoming a Tai-Chi and Chi-Gong instructor will also be shared at the workshop. Tai-Chi and Chi-Gong certificates will be presented pre-sented to all students upon completion of the meditation medita-tion workshop.
