Her creative essay concerning con-cerning the proposed establishment estab-lishment of a dessert cafe, "Satisfactions," on Main Street must have appealed to the sweet-tooth of the scholarship judges. Her enthusiasm, volun-teerism volun-teerism and penchant for a strong work ethic will certainly take her wherever wher-ever she chooses to go. Students from every grade level performed a dance from a different culture or time period. Many thanks to the teachers and students for their hours of preparation for this event. attend BYU-Idaho. Robert Day, the son of Jan and Tina Day, is also a Springville High senior and, like Rachelle, plans to attend BYU-Idaho. He has worked with his church in several service capacities and has been involved in-volved with the youth city council, student council, PTSA, Boy's State and the United Way Global Service Week. At the age of 10, he and his brother started a yard care service. Their enthusiasm enthu-siasm led them to expand their earning potential in 2002 to starting a company called "Luminous Lights", a business to help with Christmas Christ-mas lighting. His proposal for a business busi-ness venture in Springville was a high-end restaurant at the Hobble Creek Golf Course called "LeVert." He reasoned that a great menu and magnificent venue would attract patrons from all over the county. The chamber scholarship scholar-ship committee thanks all of the students who applied for this year's awards. "It was interesting to read the submissions from so many outstanding youth from our ; community. The competition competi-tion was intense for these $4,000 scholarships," said Curtis. The chamber hopes to be able to maintain scholarships of this value with plans for a golf tournament this fall. The chamber also extended extend-ed their thanks to Sonny Braun, Hobble Creek Goif Pro, his staff and Springville Spring-ville City for their help and support to make this annual event possible. "The annual gold tournament tour-nament is a key event for the Springville Chamber of Commerce and has the potential po-tential of being one of the best in the state of Utah because be-cause of it's location at one of Utah's best golf courses," said Curtis. She encourages this year's juniors to make plans to apply ap-ply for this scholarship next year. rtFurniture Shelves Quilts Clocks S-i S3 ' 1 H ted C3 jf 21 i t r f 4 i A RATES DROPPING!
