BYU Cougars set VAC road race After having finished second in the Rainbow Classic in Hawaii, the BYU Cougars again head for the road this week when WAC wars begin on courts at Albuquerque and El Paso. Friday the Cougars face the strong New Mexico five and then swing over to Texas El Paso Saturday. Tipoff times are 8 and 7:30 respectively. Cisco run nears on Bear Lake Several thousand anglers in Utah and Idaho, are eagerly awaiting reports on the annual Cisco spawning run at Bear Lake on the Utah-Idaho border. These hardy fishermen brave cold weather and icy waters to dip' net the Bonneville Cisco as they appear along the east shore of the lake. The cisco spawning run usually occurs during the last two weeks of January. The earliest starting date in the past 10 years was January 9; the latest starting date during the same period was January 19. The spawning run usually lasts 11 to 12 days. Golden Eagle passes go on sale for 71 1971 Golden Eagle Passports are now on sale at all Forest Service offices in the In-termountain In-termountain Region. The 1971 Passport is being soldi at a price of $10, which is $3 higher than in previous years. The permit will be valid from January 1, 1971, through December 31, 1971. This annual entrance permit facilitates entrance into public outdoor recreation areas operated by the United States Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Sport Fisheries, and the Bureau of Land Management. The Golden Eagle Passport is a real bargain for people who make several visits to Federal recreation areas each year. It can be used without limit to the number of visits or the number of persons in a single private vehicle. No additional user fees will be charged in National Forest campgrounds in the Intermountain Region in in 1971 Revenues collected under this program are deposited in the Land and Water Conservation Fund. This fund provides grants to State and local government for acquisition and development of outdoor recreation facilities, and to Federal agencies for acquisition of authorized recreation lands and water.
