At Party In Salt Lake By ALICIA HART NEA Service Staff Writer, Five feet, 5i Inches tall . . . 114 pounds . . . bust 34V4' . . . waist 24 . . . hips 35 That's the latest ideal figure out of Hollywood, Holly-wood, evolved by averaging the measurements of Deanna Durbin, Brenda Marshall, Carole Landis Alexis Smith, Lana Turner, Gene Tierney, Rita Hayworth, Ann Sheridah, Veronica Lake That's the figure that might be called "AAB" Average American Ameri-can Beauty in contrast to "AA" Average American which got a . lot of publicity when, the government gov-ernment made a study of Miss and Mrs. Americas proportions. And remember that "AAB is an ideal figure; of the nine professional pro-fessional beauties who contributed to it, only Deanna actually has its measurements. Veronica is five feet two; Alexis stands five seven. Veronica also has the tiniest waist 21 inches. But the proportions of all the screen lovelies hover around those of Deanna. That is, bust and hips are reasonably near the same measurement, and the waist is somewhere near ten inches smaller. small-er. ' If your figue falls in the "AA" class rather than the "AAB," don't despair. There's no point in pinng over the bony structure you were born with. Remember especially if you're in the to-diet-or-not class that you're not confronting con-fronting Hollywood standards in everyday life. FASHIONS FLATTER "AVERAGE" FIGURE Several-to-one, the gals in your office, shop or favorite ballroom are rather short and plumpish. And, too, since the "AA" figure was evolved, clothes are being made to fit and flatter it. So if you have it, you needn't go dieting diet-ing and driving yourself to the detriment of your health. Still, it worth's recognizing; uriai mere is socn a inmg as me "AAB' figure. You, and your Deau or doss, likely are making comparisons between you and aab, instead of between you and "AA." So if you care and who does not? youll remember with plea-slure plea-slure that any woman, barring physical disturbances that call for medical care, can tuck in her waist or hips or bust by means of exercise, sensible diet and massage.
