They were married in the Salt Lake temple, April 80 1802, and moved to their present farm in Grand View, in September of the same year. The party took place In Mr. Vernon's music room at the high school, a patriotic theme being carried out in the decorations. In the receiving line were: Mrs. A. P. Warnick, Mrs. A, B. Taylor, Mrs. Victor Anderson, Mrs. Parlell Peterson, Mrs. Wayne Gunnell, and Mrs. L. L. Terry. Miss Myrtle Johnson acted as master of ceremonies The opening numbers of the pro gram were two piano selections by Mrs. Wayne Gunnell, after which a very splendid program was presented by a group of B. Y. U. students. A lovely lace cloth was used on the serving table, which was centered by a low bowl of pink and yellow sweet peas. Mrs. Boyd Davis and Mrs. Wesley Soulier presided. They were assisted by Mrs. -John Lewis, Mrs. Donald Dixon. Mrs. E. B. Terry, Mrs. Carl Swenson, Mrs. Milton H. KnudSen and Mrs. Hilda Knudsen. There were seventy-five in attendance. Mrs. R. D. His wife, May McLaughlin Tanner, was born in Salt Lake City, May 5, 1874, a daughter of Ephraim and Harriet Louisa Chase. They are the parents of eight children, five of whom are living, as follows: John Sherman Tanner. Ketchikan, Ketchi-kan, Alaska; Margaret T. Bird. Farmington; Katherine T. Carter, Provo; Pheba T. Hatch, Salt Lake City, and Arthur Mc.L. Tanner, U. S. coast guard. They have five grandchildren. Mr. Tanner is a High Priest and has been active in church work earlier in his life. He filled a mission in California, before his marriage. Mrs. Tanner has served on the stake Relief society board and was registrar for the Daughters of Utah PioneeiS, several years ago. ' ;e Past Presidents Honored At Fete AMERICAN FORK -The, annual an-nual past presidents' party of the Junior Literary League, which a!so marked the eighth anniversary annivers-ary of the league's organization, was delightfully unique in its plan. The party was held at the Bromley club rooms, and was arranged ar-ranged around a patriotic theme. ine evening was one of surprises sur-prises beginning with the serving of a camouflage meal over whlcn Mrs. Florence Chipman presided as toaatmtstress. As each "course" was set before the guests, the seven presidents who have headed the league, were toasted in orig inal rhyme.
