Each fall, the Monsen family and Maze designer Brett Herbst, the world's leading designer of 206 corn mazes worldwide, offers an intricate network of twists and turns carved into six acres of corn. A unique source of good farmin' fun for adults and children alike. The maze is open Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment only for groups of 20 or more (i.e. field trips, etc.). Thursday and Friday they are open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 noon to 10 p.m. The family-style haunting half of the maze opens Oct. 14. Call 435-454-3732 for more information. The Great Pumpkin Festival at the Jensen Park: A homegrown Halloween tradition. View a field of carved pumpkins, pump-kins, sit around a bonfire at the Jensen Town Park and enjoy hot cider, cookies and .toasted marshmallows. You never know whooooo might show up! November 22-26 Seventh annual Trees for Charity Festival and Gala to be held at Imperial Auto, 1180 West Highway 40. Setup for the festival will be Nov. 21. Tree viewing will be open Nov. 22, 23 and 25 to surround the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The Trees for Charity Gala Auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 26. November 25 Annual lighting of Heritage Gardens downtown. Take a stroll through the downtown sanctuary of the old dinosaur dino-saur gardens, now holding the name of Heritage Gardens. The twinkling lights of Christmas are sure to get everyone who enters into the holiday spirit. November 25-26 Annual Santa's Workshop and Craft Fair opens Friday, Nov. 25 from 37 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 26 from 95 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Vernal Middle School once again this year and will offer visitors the opportunity to view and purchase hand crafted items from residents res-idents around the Basin area. December 3 Jarvie Ranch, a National Historic Site operated by the Bureau of Land Management, is the site of a nineteenth-century nineteenth-century trading post. During the summer months, visitors from all over the world tour the historic site, but in December, the ranch takes on a special charm. Each year, volunteers and staff decorate the ranch and trading post in great detail as an historical recreation of Christmas in the 1880s. Tours, live entertainment, and refreshments.
