Discover Di'nosaurland 2 Tall Winter 200 North American Falconers Association convention comes back to Verna The North American Falconers Association's (NAFA) annual meet and convention is scheduled to arrive in the Vernal area Thanksgiving weekend. The last time the convention was held in Vernal was in 1998 which drew quite a significant sig-nificant crowd of falconers, although this year's convention in predicted to surpass those numbers by a large amount. "We are planning to have anywhere from 500 to 600 people attending this year's convention," said Mark Holmes, Falconer. "Vernal has come to be a popular popu-lar location for the event due to the fact that there are a number of different activities activ-ities for the falconers to participate in as well as their families." The NAFA convention's main location will be held at the Weston Plaza hotel in Vernal and will have a number of different differ-ent events for the public to observe as well. The falconers will have the opportunity oppor-tunity to take their birds into the hill sides and mountains around Vernal to hunt during the day if they please, and the afternoon and evening activities will include demonstrations and seminars for the group to participate in. Throughout the convention, the falconers will have their birds in a weathering area on the lawn at the main site at different times for the public to view and admire. NAFA is a world-renowned organization organiza-tion that looks to bring visitors to the Vernal area from all across the country and throughout the world. While much of the planning has been completed, they are still looking for volunteers to assist with activities during the convention and prior to its beginning; preferably nonprofit non-profit organizations such as scout groups, 4-H groups, and others of that type. Falcons will be on display at different times throughout the convention at the Weston Plaza otel in Vernal for the public to view. Many of these birds have been to a number of conventions throughout their lives. Falconers from across the country and around the world will arrive in Vernal for the North American Birds of prey from owls to golden eagles will be present at the Falconers convention. Many of the Falconers Association meeting and convention scheduled for November. falconers will be taking their birds to the mountains around Vernal to hunt for small game. |
