"This award is the only award voted on exclusively by the 29 sitting sheriffs in the state of Utah. Sheriff Edmunds was chosen for his outstanding contributions to forwarding the office of sheriff throughout the state," said Tooele County Sheriff Frank Park, president of the Sheriffs' Association. "[Edmunds] has always been willing to go the extra mile. He is very well respected by our peers in all areas of public safety." Edmunds currently represents the Utah Sheriffs' Association on the governor's Homeland Security Steering Committee. "I don't know that anybody knows for sure why they get picked for anything like that," Edmunds said. S c h e d ^ o n f « j a WAJERHEATERS-EXPRESS COM 'V- Cops probe a hit and run [Crash caused a gas leak; driver ; fled the scene By PATRICK PARKINSON • Of the Record staff Deputies are looking for the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a house and caused a natural gas leak Nov. 20 in Jeremy Ranch. Jeremy Ranch resident Denise Colton said she was inside the home on Silver Spur Circle when it was struck at about 5:15 p.m. "It broke open a gas main," Colton said. "We had our neighbor come help us evacuate ... We had police and fire and Questar gas. It was just people working together to help our family." After crashing into the gas meter, the driver used the vehicle to flee the scene, she said. "It was a pretty scary situation with that car careening into the house and hitting the gas main and everything. But all is well that ends well. Everybody is safe," Colton said.
