Show lola Heiselt Smith KAYSVILLE lola Heiselt Smith, 81. died Feb. 1, 1991, after a lingering illness. She was born Feb. 13, 1909 in San Francisco. She served as counselor in the Oakland-Berkeley Stake MIA when that stake was organized. She also served in her local ward MIA and taught in Sunday School. During World War II she volunteered vol-unteered with the American Red Cross. In 1948, she moved with her husband hus-band to Kaysville, where she continued con-tinued her participation in numerous Manassa, Colo., the daughter of Lawrence H. and Annie Ray Morgan Heiselt. She attended schools throughout the West and graduated from Boise High School. She at- if J bt civic affairs, including serving as j presiaent of the PTA at Kaysville Elementary and Davis High Schools. j She was founder of the Kaysville j Civic Association and served in various offices in that organization, particularly as beautification chairman. chair-man. Through her efforts, the south entrance of Kaysville was turned into a city parkway planted with spruce trees. She was a member of the Vmerican Association of University Women and was honored by the Kaysville Chapter as Distinguished Women of 1971- She shared her talents with all with whom she became acquainted and enjoyed en-joyed many friendships. Survived by her husband, Dr. G. Gibbs SmithJCaysville; two children, Gibbs M. Smith, Kaysville; ShruDeLi Ownbey, Salt Lake City; two grandchildren, grand-children, Micah Owney and Jordan Smith; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Lawrence R. and Louise Heiselt, Tucson, Ariz. Funeral services were held Feb. 4, at the Kaysville Tabernacle under the direction' of Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery. tended the University of Utah, where she was affiliated with the Trotters Club, Pom Club, Delta Espilon and Kappa Gamma Sorority. She also attended at-tended the University of California at Berkeley and Mills College in Oakland. She married Dr. G. Gibbs Smith in Berkeley, Calif.. May 1, 1935. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. In California she served as president presi-dent of the Alameda County Dental Society. Her interest in flowers led her to study flower arranging with Madam Oboto and Wana Durge in |
