Show Practice schedule set for ' Messiah ' concert The noted South Davis Community Com-munity Choir will open its 1990 and 1991 season with rehearsals for its annual presentation of the "Messiah" on Sunday evening, Sept. 30. This year's production will be under the direction of guest conductor, conduc-tor, Kenneth Jones. Jones has appeared ap-peared many times as tenor soloist with the choir. He teaches choral music at Mueller Park Junior High School in Bountiful Jones' English background and his many accomplishments and education ed-ucation will be welcomed by the choir. His training includes two degrees from the University of Oregon studying vocal pedagogy and choral conducting. Jones graduated magna cum Iaudc from the University of Utah after having been elected to Phi Kappa Phi. He is the recipient of the Raymond Hubbell Music Scholarship Scholar-ship and the Lorraine Close Performance Per-formance Scholarship. Rehearsals will be held at the Bountiful 28thVal Verda Eighth Ward chapel. The church is located directly across from the Bountiful Cemetery at 2285 S. 200 W. Rehearsal times are 7 to 9 p.m. The choir welcomes new members, serves the South Davis area generally, gen-erally, but is open to all who wish to sing classics with an excellent group. |
