Show Alfred M. Zimmerman Alfred M. Zimmerman, 74, of Highland, New York, died recently. He was the owner of the A. Zimmerman Zim-merman and Sons Orchards in Highland. He was a member of the Clinton-dale Clinton-dale Fire Department; the Lions Club in Highland; honorary member of the V.F.W. Post in New Paltz, a member of the Clintondale School Board; the Clintondale Grange; the Adonai Lodge No. 718 of the F & AM in Highland; the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks No. 2568 in New Paltz, director direc-tor of the Federal Land Bank; and was active in the Production Credit Association. Born Aug. 12, 1916, in New York City, he was the son of August Zimmerman and Josephine Ruhlman Zimmerman. On April 3, 1940, at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, he married the former Virginia Sum-nica, Sum-nica, who died in 1984. On April 2, 1985 he married Beverly Ford Pitt-man, Pitt-man, who survives at home. Other survivors include a daughter, Judy San ford, Hyde Park; stepdaughter, Patricia Miller, Centerville; a son, Martin Zimmerman, Zimmer-man, Highland; two stepsons, Tobe Lee Pitman, Tainan, Taiwan, and Lt. Jeffrey F. Pittman, stationed at Fort Drum, N.Y., a sister, Adele Lyons, Milton; 11 grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews. Memorial services were held at the Clintondale Friends Meeting House. |
