Show Davis County Home Builders At the monthly meeting of the Davis County Home Builders, Michael Johnson from the State Energy Office spoke about the major causes of heat loss in homes and the need to have new homes uniformly insulated, including the proper insulation of basements. The home builders were advised that as little as $25 worth of insulation insula-tion added to a new home could reduce heating costs from around $100 to $600 per year. Johnson used his home as an example ex-ample of cost savings through insulation. in-sulation. He explained that without the use of a stove or fireplace, his energy bills for heating his home in West Bountiful are around $100 for 12 months. The meeting of the Davis County Home Builders was attended by approximately ap-proximately 30 members from the south davis area. Plans were discussed concerning the Davis County Parade of Homes to be held Aug. 31 to Sept. 9. A $500 to $1,000 scholarship from last year's home show was proposed propos-ed and approved by the association. It was also decided that a committee com-mittee should be appointed to ensure en-sure the money for the scholarship is given based on qualification . |
