Show Spay or neuter pets Pet owners who allow their animals to breed at will are responsible respon-sible for the births of nearly 123 million unwanted puppies and kittens each year in America, say Humane Society of Utah officials. Most of these animals wind up being abandoned or taken to pounds and shelters, where only about 10 percent of them are adopted to new 7 homes. The Humane Society is joining other shelters nationwide in pro moting April as PAL (prevent a litter) Month to help turn these shocking statistics around. People are urged to spay or neuter pets by six months of age. The animal will be a calmer and ' healthier pet, and he or she will not contribute to the staggering overpopulation over-population problem. The Humane .
