Show Fire damages home By MARK EDDINGTON Staff Writer WOODS CROSS South Davis Fire District officials say faulty wiring was probably prob-ably to blame for a Tuesday morning fire that caused an estimated $25,000 worth of damage to a home in Woods Cross. Renters living in a home at 1610 S. 800 West heard what sounded like an explosion or gunshot, followed by smoke alarms about 8:20 a.m. District Fire Marshall George Mason said the occupants quickly located the fire behind a dryer, but were unable to douse the flames with a chemical extinguisher. District firefighters, police and emergency services officials arrived within several minutes and found the home engulfed in a billowing cloud of smoke and flame. "The house was already fully charged with smoke and there were flames coming through the roof," Mason said. The flames were reported to be traveling inside the walls and surfacing in the attic. Firefighters extinguished the inferno, but not before the home had suffered extensive damage.
