Show DECLARATION NHEREAS, atttlitics ihow that one out of every ten bbie born li in need of iome type of lntemlve cere; and WHEREAS, education ii a vital part of understanding the apeclfic need i of prevention and treatment of newborn infants with complication! resulting in severe handicaps or deetlw and WHEREAS, the Uhverslty of Utah Newborn Intensive Care Unit provides en educational atmosphere wherein needed professional and peraonal care is given in saving newborn lives; and WHEREAS, in addition to medical attention, there are 400 students and over 600 others who receive all or part of their vocational training in the full range of health car professions at the, University Hospital; and . WHEREAS, the University of Utah Health Sciences Center la owned by the people of Utah. Eighty-sis percent of the operating costs of the School of Medicine and 96 percent of the hospital's budget are received from patient feet, faculty research grants and gifts; and .r ( WHEREAS, numerous individuals, corporations and brganisatlons have joined together in supporting and assisting " this fundamental facility, which provides specialised infant care her in out community; and WHEREAS. Saturday, August 26, 1989, marks a highlight in this project with a special musical concert "event to be held at Symphony Hall to benefit the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at the University of Utah Hospital; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Norman H.
