Show Use Society Style Editor: A quick perusal of last Friday's Chronicle has prompted me to suggest sug-gest an improvement in some of the reporting. The society page writers, writ-ers, it seems to me, have for many years known the secret of reporting coming events in such a way that few people can resist attendance at such. Perhaps if the other Chronicle reporters and writers would adopt the society section style, many of the now poorly attended at-tended events would benefit. For example, with spring football on the minds of sports fans, let me suggest something like the following follow-ing for a Saturday afternoon game next autumn : "Rustic Ute Stadium will be the with the aroma of Professor Cyanogen's Cyan-ogen's Golden Gloves pipe tobacco, students Stokley Pineapple and Ima Disciple will listen by candlelight. Though provoking questions will be proffered by sociology students, Kranken Leute and Bolneii Ludeii. Highlight of the evening will be a punctual midnight dismissal followed follow-ed by an early breakfast in the Huddle." Some claim that the society sec-. sec-. tion of the Chronicle is a waste of paper pulp, for it clearly amounts to no more than that anyway. I laud it, however, as a paragon of journalism and suggest that other Chronicle writers emulate the same. Bruce C. Bennion setting for the annual Utah-BYU football contest this Saturday afternoon. after-noon. Leading the Utes onto the green and white striped turf will be the team captain, Joe Jokalotski, while the Cougars will jog in on the heels of all-American candidate, Thrill Ogle. Slanting off-tackle throughout the afternoon will be Ute fullback, Harry Scarey, accompanied ac-companied by blockers Rudy Rhino and Ben Hadd. Throwing the look-in look-in and the long bomb will be BYU quarterback, Marcus Linus, to the music of the Incomparable Cougar Marching Band. Moving into the locker room for a post game shower show-er amid red and white jerseys and jockstraps, will be offensive linemen, line-men, Ike Eindasmell and Helmut ! Schmutzig." Concerning Challenge Week events, a reporter might pen: "Wearing brown suit with yellow turtleneck, challenge week chairman, chair-man, Hugh D. Cologne, will intro-. intro-. duce the eminent sociologist, Professor Pro-fessor Mace Cyanogen, who will discuss the problem of riot control on university campuses. Imbued |
