Show AAC Colonel Visits S. L Ft. Douglas Colonel Emily Gorman, Director Direc-tor of the Women's Army Corps, arrives in Salt Lake today to meet with Governor Rampton, visit Fort Douglas and meet with President Nathan Tanner of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. COLONEL Gorman's military service began in 1942 with her service in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC). After her commission as second sec-ond lieutenant she served as Chief of the Administrative School of the first WAAC Training Train-ing Center. SHE HAS worked extensively in the U.S. Army. Before her appointment ap-pointment as director, she served as Assistant Chief of Foreign Military Training Division. She has received several military mili-tary awards including the World War II Victory Medal, the National Na-tional Defense Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. |
