Show Spotlight Talk Airs France's C. M. Situation "And what says France about the Common Market, Pres. De Gaulle." THIS WILL me the gist of one of the two lectures given today ending the first week of Spotlight Spot-light on France. The lecture, entitled "The Common Market, Is it Common?" Com-mon?" will be held at noon in the Union West Ballroom. DR. S. GROVER Rich, professor profes-sor of political science, and Dr. Richard Bernhardt will discuss the future of the Common Market Mark-et and the French attitude towards to-wards it. Then at 8 p.m. in the West Ballroom Miss Polly Stewart, a I University student, and the Utah Valley Boys will sing a medley of French folk songs. MISS STEWART, a psychology psychol-ogy major and editor of the Pen, lived in France for a year as an exchange student. Marilyn McKain said this program pro-gram "promises to be one' of our best programs." She also said that Miss Stewart may open the informal gathering up so that all the students can join her singing. MONDAY, SPOTLIGHT will feature a lecture on Charles De Gaulle by Professor Charles Mi-caud. Mi-caud. Dr. Micaud is a professor of international relations at Denver University. His fields of specialization special-ization are ideologies of Western Europe and North Africa. He became be-came a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1949 and has been with the University of Denver since 1962. BESIDES the discussion on Pres. De Gaulle at 11 a.m. Monday, Mon-day, there will also be a discussion dis-cussion on "French Art." Dr. Paul Lorenzi, Dr. James Hasel-time Hasel-time and Mr. Gerald G. Purdy will be the discussants. |
