The couple will accompany her home for a week's visit, during which time an open house at the Carter home, Friday eve ning from 7 to 11 o'clock, will honor the newlyweds. JoAnn Myers, daughter of the Vendon Myers, observed her eighth birthday Tuesday afternoon after-noon at a party planned in her honor. A pink and blue shower was given Mrs. Leola Gillins Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home of her parents by her mother, Mrs. Ethel Myers, and her sister, Mrs. Jackie Nowers of Beaver, Special guest was Mrs. Viva Spencer, a grandmother, and Mrs. Donna Mathewjs of Salt Lake. After playing Tuxedo, a lovely plate lunch was served. Mrs. Gillins received many lovely gifts. Mrs. Ethel Mathews left during dur-ing the week for Salt Lake, where she Is scheduled to undergo un-dergo an operation next week, to correct recurrence of former complications. SCHOOL NEWS First Grade Under direction of Mrs. Bernice Gillins We have a big, big clock in our room. It tells how many boys and girls are present. There are many animals in our room. Cute little ducks, two loving pigeons, one little turtle and our own Brownie, snails, and golfish. We have some zoo animals, too. These were taken from the books we like. Mrs. Daisy Gillins returned home Monday from California, where she attended funeral services ser-vices for an aunt, sister of her father. Mr. Jensen, 88, who is presently staying in Minersville, Miners-ville, was unable to attend because be-cause of ill health. While there lurs. Gillins visited a number of tourist attractions as guest of her brothers, Aaron, who resides re-sides in North Hollywood, and Golden, of Culver City. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Myers and two daughters of Cedar City were visitors in Minersville and Milford over the week end. A successful Parent-Teacher meeting was conducted Monday evening by Mrs. Phyllis Truman, Tru-man, president. Three cars of Better Schools Committee representatives rep-resentatives from Milford were present and led an interesting discussion of the problems concerning con-cerning the bond issue in relation to taxes and new schools. Chairman of this group is Mrs. Faye Thompson. Mrs. Haycock presented a piano pi-ano solo, and Mr. Haycock gave a reading, after which members from the East side of town were challenged to a volleyball game by the West side.
