Show MRS. PATRICIA WILLIAMS, Society Editor THE SILVER DESERT Camp Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Vilate Lang on Friday, Dec. 16th. Dinner was served by the commttee, Mrs. Ardath Outzen, Mrs. LaVerne Bunker, Mrs. La-Rue La-Rue Banks and Mrs. Minnie Galloway, after which gifts were exchanged. Those present besides the committee were Vilate Lang, Jane Lang, Erma Cline, Edith Osborn, Helen Gillins, Emma Smith, Cassie McKnight, Wanda Wan-da Holm, Belle James and Jean Jones. Clarence McWh'orter left Sunday for Denver, to attend an AT&T conference. He returned re-turned to Mil'ford Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Schicde-mann Schicde-mann spent a few days in Mil-lord Mil-lord visiting old friends, en route from their home in Michigan Mich-igan to spend Christmas at Lodi, Calif. THE G I A LADIES held their Christmas party Saturday night at the I O' O F hall. Mrs. O. R. Smith and Mrs. Maf-da-lcna While were the hostesses. Bridge was the evening's entertainment, en-tertainment, with Mrs. Garnet Garfield, Mrs. Marvel Connell and Mrs. Florence Barnes winning win-ning the- prizes. 'Other players included Mrs. Garnetta Hollis, Mrs. Margaret. Lund, Mrs. Wanda Holm, Mrs. Clctiel Whittak.r, Mrs. Vera Cooper, Mrs. Betty Hardy, Mrs. Katherine Shingleton and Mrs. Lois Moore. Exchange of gifts was en- ' joyed by the group. j THE AMERICAN Legion Auxiliary held their regular meeting' and Christmas party Monday in St. Bridget's recreation recrea-tion hall Monday evening. The Gold Star Mothers were presented a gift by President Ida Smith. A delicious salad course, rolls and coffee and punch were served by the hostesses, Bonnie Easton, Neat Kirk, and Vera Beitz to Ethel Smith, Nina Bingham, Bing-ham, Naomi Hughes, Letha Smyth, Carlie Waddoups, Mag-dalena Mag-dalena White, Sue Morris, Sarah Griffiths, Berniece Stewart, Pat i Williams, Ida Smith, Dorothy Grimshaw, Jerrie Kirk and Betty Davis. Cards were played, after which the members exchanged gifts. . . .I . A FAREWELL Testimonial party was given in honor of Larry Cecil Edwards, son tit Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Edwards, in the L D S Church last Monday Mon-day evening'. . Larry leaves Jan. 4 to fulfill a mission to the Northern States. . Short talks were given by Lovcl Bradshaw of Mander-field, Mander-field, Mr. Mrs. Edgar Edwards, Preston Yardley, Linda Mun-ford Mun-ford of Beaver, Larry and Sally Edwards, and Bill Nichols. Following a program, dancing danc-ing was enjoyed. Out of town relatives attending attend-ing included Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ed-gar Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. Gecrge Bradshaw of Beaver, Larry's grandparents: Mr. and Mrs." Bill Miller of California, Mrs. John Bradshaw, Linda Prince and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Edwards, all of Beaver; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bradshaw and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edwards of Adamsvil'le, Mary Beth Sal-mond Sal-mond of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Edwards of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs, LaVel Bradshaw Brad-shaw of Manderfield. Larry graduated from Mil-ford Mil-ford high school in 1953, and attended at-tended the B Y TJ, completing the first quarter of his junior year this fall. TWENTY catechism students stu-dents of St. Bridget's Church enjoyed a Christmas party last Saturday, honoring Sister Mary Francine and Sister Mary Edwards Ed-wards cf Salt Lake, who have been teaching the children since September. Mrs. Barbara McGinn, Mrs. Edith Wisner, Mrs. Heltn Banks, Mrs. Jean Hanicy and Mrs. A. A. Brink-man Brink-man assisted with a Christmas play given by the children; entertainment en-tertainment and served refreshments refresh-ments of cookies, ice cream, hot chocolate, and Christmas stockings filled with goodies. PINOCHLE was the evening's eve-ning's entertainment last Tuesday Tues-day at the home of Mrs. Lois Moore. The prizes were received re-ceived by Mrs. Margaret Lund, Mrs. Mary McCulley and Mrs. Cleo Labrum. Other players included Mrs. Virginia Fowles, Mrs. Florence Beard, Mrs. Marion Miller and Mrs. Hilda Shields. Gifts were exchanged after cards. I |
