They were on their way to Salt Lake, Oregon, and the parks for an extended vacation vaca-tion trip. Visiting at the H. L. Tolley home are Mrs. C. E. Bartlett and daughter Sharon of Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Idaho, and Miss Mary Vogt of Los Angeles. Mrs. Bartlett is a sister of Mrs. Tolley. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Stewart, Stew-art, Mr.' and Mrs. William D. Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. John Jiminez attended a Stewart family reunion last Sunday. At the business meeting, which was held in the Daughters of the Pioneers hall in Beaver, Irene was elected secretary of the family association. After the meeting, all went to Ponderosa Park for a picnic. Max Stewart, who has been ;lown with pneumonia, is now on the road to recovery. Mrs. Jean Jones was invited to Leamington last Sunday to spend her birthday with her daughter Rosie Finlinson and I family. She was accompanied by her son Donald and by her sister, Belle Matheson. j It was reported recently that j Jimmy Wright had broken his leg. Such was not the case, al-chough al-chough he did sprain his ankle badly. I I A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Duane Yardley at the Iron County Hospital in Cedar City on June 29. She weighed 5 lbs. Mj and Mrs. Loraine Gillins entertained on June 15 in honor of their fathers, Floyd Wright and CJair Gillins. Both the Wright and Gillins families were present, as was also Miss Carol Kobinson of Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wright"! went to Salt Lake City on June 20 to take Laura Sherwood, Mrs. Wright's mother, who was admitted admit-ted to the L D S Hospital for an operation. Mrs. Sherwood is a little improved since the operation, oper-ation, but will remain in Salt Lake for about a month for observation ob-servation after she leaves the hospital. Her daughter, Rhoda Ramsey, has gone up to stay with her. . Mr. and Mrs. Max Stewart i and Mrs. Lizzie Stewart were in j Cedar City Monday to visit Maureen Yardley, who is in the hospital there with a new baby. Steven Bywater of Salt Lake City is visiting at the Don and Gael Elmer homes. There will be no Community Club this Saturday. Instead the Community Club and the Social Hour Club will meet together later on in the month for the annual outing. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hummell of Houston, Texas, uncle and Aunt of Claris Price, called at I Visitors at the Puffer home ( on June 28 were Gean Harris, Trs. Margaret Powell and daughter Eva, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Puffer and son Fred, all of Beaver. . ",.T". and Mrs, Orrin Puffer and family were in Beaver Monday Mon-day on business. They also visited vis-ited relatives while there. H. L. Tolley, Leo and George Mayer, and Morg Griffiths spent Monday on a soil conservation tour of Piute -and Wayne Coun- , ties. They covered about 600 miles on the tour. I Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Sherwood Sher-wood and daughters, and Mar-ton Mar-ton Sherwood have been to Salt Lake to visit Laura Sherwood, who is in a hospital there. Brian Sherwood stayed at the Wright home while his parents were gone. . Mr. and Mrs. Don Elmer and Ken were in Salt Lake last week. While there Don went to the Veterans Hospital for a check-up. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sainsbury spent a week at the Paice home and Mr. Sainsbury helped in the hay. He had just received his discharge from the navy and they were en route to Clearfield to make their home. Mrs. Sainsbury Sains-bury is a sister ot Delia Paice. Roy Paice accompanied the Sainsburys to Clearfield, where he will visit until his parents go up to bring him home. j i Leo Mayer was in California on business last week. Nora Wright and sons were in Cedar City last Saturday. Whi'e there they did some shop- ping and visiting. I |
