Show IDigb Scbool IFtews The student council was concerned this week with making preparations for coming student body elections. By Wednesday, April 21, all candidates for student body offices must be posted in the high school building. Elec tions will be held on Friday, May 4, and the winners will be announced that nitrht at an election dance. The annual an-nual clean-up day for the high school was also discussed and a tentative date set. t Anne McCuIIey received an Honorable Mention rating for the reading she gave -at the State Speech Meet which was held at the Brigham Young University Uni-versity Friday and Saturday of last week. The Juniors are now bus'ly engaged in preparing for their annual Junior Prom which is to be held in the high school gymnasium this Friday night. We understand their decorations will be unique and beautiful. The Milford High baseball team came through with their first win of the season over the Parowan Rams behind the strike-out pitching of Kent Kinross. Kin-ross. At the end of regulation play the score was tied at 3 runs each, but in the top of the eighth inning the Tigers exploded explod-ed for five runs and in the other half of the inning held the Rams scoreless to come through for a win. The next game will be with Delta and will be held on the Milford High diamond on April 26. A capacity crowd turned out last week to see the high school presentation of the operetta "The Belle of the West." With an interesting, plot and well-chosen well-chosen cast, the operetta proved very entertaining to those who saw it. We sincerely hope that this will be the beginning of an annual presentation of a school operetta. |
