Show HOSPITAL PLANNED FOR COUNTY; WORK PROGRESSING ON MILFORD CLINIC No definite progress has been made in the Beavei County Hospital movement, it was reported by Gene Kirk, chairman of the Mil ford Lions Club hospital committee. The proposal is still in a "planning" stage, Mr. Kirk said, "but we are working hard for a hospital, and. we expect to be able to announce something definite in a few days." In the meantime, remodeling of the former Dr. Fowler of-; of-; fices and the Janet's Coffee : Shop into a modern clinic is ; progressing satisfactorily, ac-I ac-I cording to Mr. L. C. Beck, bus-I bus-I iness manager for the group. It i is expected to have the clinic I and laboratory completed and I open by the early part of next ' week. Dr. Williamson and Dr. Fowler have been receiving patients pa-tients at the clinic during the remodeling. The county hospital movement move-ment resulted from a telephoned tele-phoned request from Beaver last Tuesday, asking a representative repre-sentative group of Milford businessmen bus-inessmen to meet in Beaver to discuss a county hospital. The invitation was refused because of lack of ample time to sample sam-ple the opinion of the community, communi-ty, and a meeting was arranged for Thursday evening, to be held in Minersville, with representatives rep-resentatives of the three communities com-munities exchanging views. Gene Kirk, Dr. Lloyd Kohler and Joe Murdock were named to represent Milford, with Joe C. Smith serving on the committee com-mittee as advisor. The group met Thursday noon, formulated policies, etc., and attended the Minersville meeting. However, since Beaver was not officially represented at the meeting, nothing was accomplished. Dr. Fowler, presiding at the meeting, requested Minersville i to apppoint a committee to meet with committees from Milford Mil-ford and Beaver; and discuss the matter more fully. |
