Show GEORGE BAKER PASSES AWAY IN CEDAR CITY George Baker, 71, died at 6:10 a. m. Wednesday, July 19, in the Iron County Hospital at Cedar City, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Baker had been confined to his bed since the first of the year. Born in Minersville July 12, 1879, Mr. Baker was a son of George and Mary Ann Evans Baker, early Utah pioneers. He had spent his life in Minersville, except for short periods in Van-derbilt, Van-derbilt, Cal'J., and Rose Valley, Nev., and Cedar City. He was a farmer and miner during his active life. On Jan. 6, 1905, he married Mary Ann (Polly) Unthack, in Cedar City. Survivors, besides his widow, include three daughters, Mrs. Erva Goodwin of Battle Mountain, Moun-tain, Nev.; Mrs. Nita Goodwin of Pioche, Nev., and Mrs. La-Priel La-Priel White of Compton, Calif.; pne son, Mervin Baker of Cali-ente, Cali-ente, Nev.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Tinder of Englewood, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted at 1 j). m. Friday from the Minersville L D S Chapel, under direction of First Counselor Coun-selor Jule Gillins. Burial will be in the Minersville cemetery. |
