Show NEWS NOTES FROM MINERS VILLE By MRS. EMILY GILLINS Mrs. Nan Eyre of Parowan, a former Minersville resident, was here Tuesday. Mrs. Oscar Stephenson, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dotson, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lunt of Cedar City were visitors here Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Hol-lingshead Hol-lingshead and Mrs. Ida Hoi- j lingshead, former residents of Minersville now of Panaca, Nev., were here for Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Norman (Riz) Gillins and son Peter, of Ogden, were welcome visitors over the ft holidays at the home of Mrs. s- ' vjr - Alba Gillins, mother of Norman. They returned to their home Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schwab of Beaver, their daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Browner, and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Annette, of Cedar i City, visited in Minersville on Memorial Day. j The funeral of Mrs. Susie Goff of Panguitch, on Friday, was attended by the following residents of Minersville and Beaver: Mr. and Mrs. Sim Murdock, IOp. and Mrs. Delmer Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Goff; from Beaver, Beav-er, Mrs. Mary Goodwin, Mr. and Mrs. Sy Osborne, Mrs. Vilda Smith, Mrs. Emily Pulsipher, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Davis and family of Provo, and Mrs. Emma Williams and Mrs. Alice Heslington of Greenville, called on friends and relatives Tuesday. Tues-day. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Freeman and family of Pioche, Nev., were visitors in Minersville for Memorial Services. Mrs. Freeman Free-man is a daughter of Mr. Jim Dotson. ! Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roberts j and Mrs. Evelyn. Buchanan of Compton. Calif are , here vis- Mrs. Marguerite Eyre was in Minersville Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Cor-bridge Cor-bridge of Trona, Calif., arrived Saturday to visit Mrs. Hannah Corbridge, his mother. They also will visit Mrs. Vivian Marshall Mar-shall and Mrs. Sylvia Davis, daughters of Mrs. Corbridge. Mr. Howard Heslington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Heslington, Hesling-ton, who has been called to serve a mission in Great Britain, Brit-ain, will report at the mission home June 19. Mr. Heslington did not expect to leave until September, however, he received re-ceived a telegram from the mission mis-sion secretary, Franklin Murdock Mur-dock at Salt Lake, asking him to report at an earlier date. A number of people turned out Tuesday to improve the local baseball grounds on the church property. Blasting of the old church foundation took place, to complete the outfield of the ball diamond. Mrs. Emma Davis was hostess to the American Leg-ion Auxiliary Auxil-iary at her home on Wednes-i Wednes-i day evening. Mrs. Louella Rollins Rol-lins was guest of honor, demonstrating demon-strating various ways to make paper flowers. Arrangements were made for earh member to sell poppies made by disabled veterans. Strawberry shortcake was served to the followinv: Barbara Bar-bara Gressman, Myrl Bradfield. Shirley Hollingshead, Virginia Marshall, Phyllis Truman, Effie Marshall, WQma Davis and Emily Gillins. Theodore Eyre and daughter Elaine of Las Vegas, Nev., arrived for Decoration Dec-oration Day. Mrs. Eyre will remain for the forthcoming wedding wed-ding of Mr. Garold Eyre. Mrs. Pireston Stexddard of Salt Lake City is here visiting. Mrs. Maurine Kearney and sons David and Hal of Salt Lake City visfted at the ihome of her grandmother, Mrs. Alba Gillins, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baker ane proud over the arrival last Friday of a tiny daughter at the JOilfora Hospital. This is the second daughter for the Bakers, The new arrival also has four brothers, elated over her desire to make a home with them. I Word has toeen received that I Mrs, Mary Gillins had an acci-I acci-I dent with her car last week. A bee entered the car, alighting on one f her children. In the confusion the car was wrecked, Luckily, however, no one was seriously injured. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin and children, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Hun-ter Gibson and family, of Cedar City and Enoch, respectively, were here for Memorial Day, visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goodwin. A farewell testimonial was held Monday evening for Beryl Roberts, a son of Mr. and Mrs Lester Roberts, who is leaving soon on an L D S mission. Bishop Ruben Dotson gave a short talk, followed by a song, "Danny Boy," by Lee Marshall, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Phyllis Truman Stake President A. Carlos Murdock and Counselor Aird G.
